The recent ep has certainly put some light upon changelings. Lots of bits of lore and abilities of changelings
-Changelings can emulate bipeds and inanimate objects
-Most changelings are born independent, and apparently no hive mind (so far)
-Apparently kindness and love makes them go feral, or at least drop their disguises for those with less control
-changelings, or at least the drones, are hatched from eggs in the nursery
-Chrysalis likes the babies, or at least plan what to do with them
-Changelings have long, forked tongues
-Changelings have a kingdom. Does that mean Chryssy has a King or a consort?
-Changelings can possibly create love for one another. Possible, no confirmed. Personally, i think it would fit better if they can't but who knows.
But you know what? This changes nothing for my fic (except for the tongue thing, duh). It's based well before S6 and i'm going to stick with what i have because to do otherwise would fuck me up and force this story onto indefinite hiatus to borderline cancellation. I'm not going to do that to you all when i'm already so close to continuing, so let's keep this story going....as soon as i figure out how i want this next chapter to go.

And I don't really think anything contradicts anything in your fic. The info we got its rather spotty anyway.

You didn't mention one important detail. Changelings are organized into "hives" with the queen being the literal mother of the drones — possibly by adoption, though. An there may be more hives than just Chrysalis's.
(Of all the crazy fan theories I liked best the one where Chrysalis is an alicorn and the evil sister of Cadence.)

4165660 "After that [the attack on Canterlot and seeing true friendship] I knew I couldn't live with my hive anymore". Time: 8:11. The word "hive" appears a few more times before and after, but not in such clear context.
As for Chrysalis being their mother, she is the only adult in the "nursery hive" (whatever that means) when Thorax hatches. Time: 7:38-7:55. This isn't stated explicitly, so I may be wrong.
4165724 eh, fine, but I doubt that just because Chryssy was in the nursery when the babies hatched means that she's their mom. Honestly, that one's still unclear. Plenty of fanfics and art to fill that void (

4166097 That is how many insects start a new hive/nest/colony. The young queen copulates with a male, flies away, finds a good place, lays eggs, from which drones hatch. She takes care of them until they grow up, then they start to do all the work and she just lays eggs. That was the first association that came to mind.
