Notes written as I watch 28 pranks later · 5:46pm Aug 13th, 2016
(Side note, I am completely unspoiled for plot and teasers as I watch.)
-I'm not one of Rainbow Dash's fans, but I'm starting to feel sorry for them. Barely past the theme song with this one and we've already got the "dense, insensitive asshole friend" dial turned to max.
-Mother of Celestia, please don't have this be Mare-Do-Well 2.0. Although if only one good thing comes of this episode, at least it shoots down the "Well they should have just talked to her!" line deployed by those who think Rainbow was a poor, abused angel in that one.
-"A whoopie cushion is like a joke shortcut." AJ remains best pony.
-Ok, the cake prank was good.
-HI CELESTIA!
-...Bye, Celestia.
-Rainbow you chucklefuck, Mac's working!
-I give her a pass on the brick in the burger thing. It's cartoon violence: no harm, no foul.
-I am so happy the others are at least trying to get Rainbow to stop before turning to the inevitable "revenge prank that goes too far."
-You tried, Pinkie.
-That is a lot of cookies.
-The Cakes are very nice people, buying cookies while they themselves are bakers.
-Zombie babies? That's a little intense, but whatever, Rainbow made Fluttershy cry. Of course this is a revenge prank, which is a really bad way to get someone to stop pranking.
-My first laugh out loud moment came with the abrupt cut from zombie apocalypse to a seemingly-oblivious Applejack and Rarity doing what they always do: fuel the ship.
-That's right Rainbow, the whole town hates you enough to join a revenge prank. It was wrong, sure, but now might be a good time for some self-appraisal.
-YES, PRANK THE PRANKSTER, THAT IS A GOOD WAY TO MAKE THEM STOP PRANKING YOU SOCIALLY-NAIVE SMALL HORSES!
-End.
Actually, as far as comedy and cartoon entertainment goes, I found this to be a lot of fun. As for deeper lessons and character development... hey, it was less cringey than Mare-Do-Well.
About 1000 boxes in the cart. Which has to weigh something like half a ton, and the amount of boxes seen later on makes me think they had to have come back for more.
Rainbow Dash is downright rich to afford that many special order joke cookies for a prank.
That is one hell of a low bar to set.
Actually I don't hate MMDW as much as the fandom seems to collectively hate, but that doesn't mean that I appreciate last episode that much any way. I think it was just "okay-ish".

Wonderbolts have a lot of money and free time.

Rainbow also sneaked Applejack's bed out of the house and slipped a bolder in Mac's apple cart... she's not my favorite character, but she has one heck of an impressive skill set. Then again, I guess anything goes when the plot demands it.

I think it's reasonable, since comparisons between the two are inevitable. But yes, a very low bar. Hopefully there won't be as much pissy drama this time around.
4148562 I don't think there will. The comments and posts about it make me think that people actually enjoyed this one a lot more than MMDW.

Ditto. I guess people will forgive dubious life lessons so long as the episode was fun.
I liked the zombie refrences all over the episode.
That is untill I started to think abaut my headcannon where rainbow is nuklear waste... yeah, it was intense for me...
