Gosh, and I thought last weeks episode was predictable...
As soon as Pinkie Pie was seen 'sick' in bed from Dash's cookie, I'd already got the rest of the episode mapped out in my head... and what a long slog it was getting to the finishing line. Yes, I 'get' the tribute to a certain zombie film of almost the same name, but that doesn't make the end results any less tiresome.
Others faults, like Rainbow pranking Fluttershy at the start when, based on previous episodes, she KNOWS that shouldn't be done, and Pinkie's subsequent amusement upon hearing about it, when she KNOWS it shouldn't be done, pale in comparison to just how yawn-inspiring the second half is, after the basic premise has been established.
Perhaps Megan McCarthy should have written the episode herself, rather than rely on this writer who I've never heard of, who clearly isn't up to the task. The only real laugh I got was Celestia being inundated with messages courtesy of Dash's prank on Spike, I would have LOVED to have seen the princess get her own back on a certain blue pegasus for that bit of malarky.
That at least would have shown some level of inspiration, a quality sorely lacking in all areas of this episode. Not one for the rewatch marathon. 2/5
