Up in the Air, a Finding Home sequel · 2:21am Jul 31st, 2016
New story, Go!
My new story, Up in the Air, ought to be posted now (auto-post is a beautiful thing). It follows up on Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie after Finding Home, detailing the events of their date and providing an important moment for the development of their relationship in the future of Who We Become.
I was gonna post this a while ago, but there was something about it I was pretty unhappy with. Enter Mind Jack, who stepped in to fix it (and did a great job in doing so ). I haven't formally announced this yet, but I am proofreading his story The Nightmare Knight, which is totes worth a read. It's inspired by Batman, and even as just a casual Batman fan (basically I've seen most of the movies) I find it incredibly enjoyable.
Because it's more a side story than a core part of the series, I didn't sequel tag it, hence the blog to hopefully notify y'all of its existence.
Well enjoyed the story. I will admit though I was kind of sad with it not working out but I guess you can't win them all.
Hopefully Pinkie will have more luck with the next one.

No worries, I have plans for Pinkie and Rainbow, and for their love lives I'm such shipping trash, there's no way I could leave them single forever lol

Hmm well if Dash is off the table and so is Twilight (well I am going with the idea that the number she has already is enough) I am down to original characters or Big Mac as my usual choices. ..
Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Not a fan of Cheesepie? Not saying that's what I have planned, just curious since that's my second favorite Pinkie ship (my favorite being Pinkiedash, so my favorites aren't a good indication of what I'm gonna actually do)

Oddly no. I think it is the fact that one of the big reasons I really enjoy Pinkie is her uniqueness and Cheese infringes on that. Strangely for a one off episode I love having him around but for a romance I get annoyed by having him stealing what makes her so special.
As an example I love PinkieDash because while they are similar in many ways Pinkie is always enthralled by Dash and Dash is always flabbergasted with what Pinkie can do. With Cheese neither is surprised they just keep upping the ante which I actually find more purpose as an antagonist (though a friendly on ein this case). This is similar to why I am not a fan of AppleDash in particular where I find them making great friends and rivals but not really romantic (at least for very long).
On the other hand for straight ships I really enjoy Big Mac with Pinkie. In the show they are shown together strangely often ( such as when she paints his body including hi rear when trying to make him look like AJ, a clone pouncing on him, and works with him to fix a bridge) and they seem to have a good rapport with each other sharing philosophical insights. They share an interesting dynamic where he is the straight man to her craziness but he also brings out a different side to her, a contemplative quieter side at times.
Of course you should feel free to write it how you like and should continue liking CheesePie. I know a number of people that like it it just does not fit me personally.
EDIT: I am going to favorite this story for now and see where you go from here it could be interesting. I checked and read as much as I could that at least appeared to use Pinkie a bit. If you have a story that uses Pinkie a bit and she is not listed as a character let me know.

That is very well thought out, and a solid point. I suppose I don't read enough Pinkie ship stories for that to have become annoying to me, although I could totes see how it would be. And in any event, it's always nice to see someone who actually thinks about why characters would work together, rather than 'I really like both of these so I'll ship them'.
As for other stories of mine with Pinkie, she pops up periodically in both Inner Strength and Finding Home, but this is the first story I've written with her as a main character. Inner Strength only has her in four chapters, and she does little aside from generally exist and deliver a few decent jokes (but I would think that). Finding Home has her in seven, and involves the set up for Up in the Air (with Pinkie regularly flirting with Rainbow, and asking her on the date in the end). Neither has her in a big role, and she generally only pops up as part of the mane six when they all get together. I'm slowly working my way towards a huge story that will give all the main characters a sizable role, which is where Pinkie will come back in as a bigger role.
