Hey everypony, just writing my first blog post here. Due to unforeseen personal issues that have popped up, I may not be able to get the next chapter of my latest story, An Unexpected Twilight, out as soon as I'd like. I'm having issues with the iPad I've been using to write and I'm forced to use a phone. At first I was undeterred, but typing has proven quite awkward. Sadly the fimfiction editing programs isn't adjusted for phones.
Anyways, while I work on the issues, I decided to rewatch the show from the beginning, but I will need to know any episodes past season 3 that could affect the past or near future in my stories. I'll use some time to research it, but it shouldn't affect too much.
I may also start on the next chapter of my Mass Effect story. It would have been finished by now and posted, but I keep the drafts for that story on paper, and I've lost my folder of stories. Thankfully the Mass Effect story was the only important thing lost. The rest were already posted chapters or rough drafts of new stories, such as cross overs with Skyrim, Dragon's Dogma, and Fable 3, as well as a Lyra story and a short Derpy and Dinky story. I can easily rewrite any if them thankfully.
Now, for those who've read my Twilight story, I would like to mention a few things. First, I'm thinking of naming my Twilight clone Dawn Sparkle. Not too original I know, but I'm struggling to find a better name. (Still wish I could use Starbutt though...) Suggestions are still appreciated, but it will be set when the next chapter comes out. Second, how do you feel about making Equestria Girls canon? I feel that it would be an interesting adventure for our Teenage human boy turned purple book horse girl. If I make it cannon, however, the ending will probably be quite different. Lastly, anything you suggest I put in the story? I plan on following the show timeline with the occasional problem coming early, late, or adding completely new issues entirely. (Twilight is straight. "Dawn" was straight as a boy. Now she's got to deal with hormones. Yay, story ark for the future!) Anyways, ideas are appreciated.

How about having him use a genderswap spell while passing his motives off as "advanced magic studies" or something, only for the real Twilight to see him and find her male self strangely hot... and say so out-loud... right in front of him... and the rest of the mane six... and the other princesses... and Discord... and that one orange pegasus guard she plans on filing a restraining order against... and Spike... and her parents... and her brother...
...It would be so deliciously awkward!

PS you can still use starbutt just have dawn use it as a nickname for the original twilight as a mumbled curse word or something

4117993 Those names are OK, but for muttering under his breath about the real Twilight the ultimate insult (which he can use with impunity because she'll never get the reference) would be... Bella.
If you want to make EQG cannon that is honestly your choice as the author as its your story.
4117828 that would make way more sense as non-cannon as that would be very OOC for Twilight plus why the hell would all of them be in the same room? It would have to be some rather nonsensical reason unless you use the Gala in which case there would be a lot more people as well as making no sense why she's casting advanced magic at the Gala.
Now I'm not saying it wouldn't be hilariously awekward because it absolutely would be I'm jist saying why I think it should be non-cannon. Honestly its all up to the author really what happens.
4118031 It doesn't have to be when he casts the spell, just when Twilight sees him for the first time afterwards. So it could basically be any sort of moment where all the aforementioned individuals would be in the same place, like them getting invited to the castle for Hearthswarming eve or some other holiday/event.
...Except for Discord. He's gonna be there anyways because he sees right through the whole blank-slate schtick and is keeping it a secret so he can be 'in' on any awkward humor that would arise from the situation.

Come to think of it Twilight pretty much has zero.contact with her family except on rare occasions and that's usually her brother and his wife. She's basicly cut her parents out of her life for some odd reason.
I definitely see Discord being around for it all though because well he is Discord so no brained he'd be around some a bit of chaos.
4117993 the idea with Big Mac? Genius. I shall put it in! As for names, I think I'll stick with Dawn. Good names, but the first parts aren't as good as dawn. Last part is much up for debate though.

Also, if Twilight tried to do it with Dawn, would it be incest since they are sisters or masterbation since dawn is a clone? I'm curious as to what you all think.
4118568 due to personality differences I'd say incest as Dawn is not Twilight except for in genetic terms of the body (though that may be different for all we know she may just look like Twilight but be like an identical twin)
