Unicornia - Final Thoughts · 12:15pm Jul 16th, 2016
And so today marks the final chapter of Unicornia, and I just wanted to share some thoughts about the story will all two of you that'll end up reading this :)
So this story... I first got it into my head roughly two years ago, and finally started writing it in March of last year (2015) - in other words, it took over 12 months to write this thing, for various reasons. Work, conflicting interests, moments of sickness and lacking motivation... To be honest, I STILL struggled to find time to write even after things calmed down for me.
What I wrote is only a fraction of what I originally planned two years ago. My original vision would have had more time to focus on the characters and their building relationships, more focus on the actual terrorist acts and how they impacted Equestria, Unicornia would have made ties outside of Equestria and spread its influence ever further, and hell, Rarity was even gonna infiltrate Unicornia as a spy, only to develop conflicted feelings as she comes to know some of its members and sees how they care for each other.
As it stands, these 15 chapters were about the limit that I was able to reach, and don't get me wrong, I am super happy with how it turned out. I'm glad that I was ultimately able to write and upload this fic, and that even just a few people liked it enough to fave/track it.
My favourite part of writing this whole thing, though, is the Platinum flashback scenes, which is interesting seeing as how this was added AFTER I had started writing. I never planned those to begin with, and yet, they were the scenes I had the most fun writing and they just seemed to come so natrually. Guess it goes to show you never know what you might come up with at the spur of the moment.
Overall, I'm glad that I didn't give up on this fic and that I stuck it out to the end, and I'd especially like to thank my proofreaders Snu (for chapter 1), Sami and Frank/Mudpony.
So yeah, just wanted to share a few thoughts with you guys and I hope you all enjoyed/enjoy the finale :)
