Blueblood Retcon · 1:11pm May 20th, 2016
Following the recent chapter in which I admit to retconning Blueblood, it was pointed out that edits should be made in order to establish his true character earlier in the story. To that end, I have added an addition to Chapter 24 http://www.fimfiction.net/story/268606/25/horse-people-go-naked/chapter-24-magical-sex-beeper to give, what I hope, better insight into what I now want to do with the character.
I stopped writing him after a while because, after doing more reading, even I got tired of his status as a one dimensional villain. By far the best representations I've seen are of him with considerable cunning or being an asshole on purpose; just something to flesh out his character as something more than a stupid spoiled brat who's not even that much fun to hate a lot of the time. This version, I hope, will depict him as something of a professional provocateur, someone who actively seeks to piss people off but is still loyal to the crown. If this works out, expect to see a bit more of the blond Prince in the future.
Read the retcon. It's interesting to see Blueblood and Attentive Eye work together and it really highlights the true personalities of the rejected maids better, so their aggressive personalities in the interrogation chapter aren't as jarring. Plus, Blueblood's report on the maids' lack of support for Thomas gives more of a justification as to why the maids were fired rather than Thomas not clicking with them. You did an amazing job.
3958674 Appreciation. Also, them not standing up to him was meant to be implied before the retcon.
That... does it nicely. It even blends well with the superficially shady Firestorm and his work. Though the editing on new section is pretty rough.
3959226 It was, that guy just missed it. In fact the 'not clicking' thing was really only brought up in passing, as a reason that Luna was watching them so closely while clashing with BB. The lack of protective response on behalf of the 'herd stallion' got considerable more detail and far more words.
3960167 Awesome.
How did you change anything? Everything that happened is still there?
EDIT: I thought retcon meant something different (putting something in or releasing a fictional work as if something that happened previously didn't exist). I had to look it up to get the true meaning.
