So....as I've been working on my side story for the Soldier Series the way it seems to be going I think it might actually turn into the third installment for the Soldier Series after The Princess and The Soldier.
As such I don't think I'll be uploading it till after I finish the current book which indint think has much left for me to cover anyways.
I will still be accepting OCs for the story as this is going to be a story that will expand the world of the EDF, Royal Guard and civilians.

Note Changelings look more or less the same as each other so disregard the fur and mane section. Do put if there is any for of unique appears like scars and such.
As before I may tweek OC as need and possible expand aspects of their character as the story develops. I will credit the creator of the OC in the Author Nots of chapters when OCs first appear.
Also if I do not use your OC it is nearly because I could not come up with a way to properly use the character without making drastic changes to them.
Since everyone is lending me the use of their OCs I feel as payment I'll release the Title of the next installment of the Soldier Series now for you all to speculate on what the plot could be as it will amuse me greatly to watch and see if anyone figures out ehsr I have planned.

Book Three of the Soldier Series: Soldiers of Harmony
Name: Old Yeller

Personality: Gentle, stern, and fatherly
Bio: When Yeller was a pup, he admired the EDF and the Commander as his role models. When he wasn't out hunting for his pack, he was training his body for the day that he would join the EDF as a soldier. But, sad times were to come before his dream could come true. When he was 9, his pack had run afoul of a group of cockatrices and were turned to stone when his hunting group were hunting. After they returned and found the remains of their pack, they went their separate ways, with Yeller heading for Equestria. Where he would continue to train, but had to live and survive on his on for more than ten years, until he was able to join the EDF. And, sometime during his journey, he came across a Model 1795 musket and he would come to take it up as his main means of defense.
Extra: Personally prefers to use a Model 1795 musket as his main firearm.

Looks: She has a black coat with a Dark Red mane with a dark purple strands in it. She is also smaller then most ponies.
Cutie Mark: An eclipsed blood red moon, with the rest of the moon being a purple color with a black outline.
Magic Aura: A dark green.
Other notes: She always wears a necklace with a star on it.
Personality: Mysterious. Shes very sarcastic, and she has no emotions. She only cares about herself and does whatever she does if it helps her. If others get hurt or die, she doesn't care. She is also quite intelligent and a master at manipulating people to get her way.
Other notes: Her best friend is a doll, which looks like Smartypants, that is called Nightbeam.
She hears voices in her head all the time, and is a bit insane.
Weapons: Always has a dagger and made her own rifle, which she named Shadowlight. Shadowlight uses magic to refill its ammo so she doesn't have to worry about finding ammo, and she can use magic to change to different kinds of bullets, like flame bullets, arcane bullets, or defensive bullets.
Backstory: She was abandoned in a big city, where she grew up on the streets. She has learned to hate others, and has no emotions what so ever. She is very tough despite her being smaller and younger then most. She wanders around Equestria, doing what she pleases. She has no real goals but to just have fun with her life, and listening to the voices in her head. Whatever they tell her to do, she does it. She planed to join the Shadow Walker because she thought it would be fun.

3940368 well the Army is made up of infantry and tanks for the most part as well as other ground vehicals. Moderns style military weapons only designed for ponies. There are changelings with in the EDF also and make up about 1/3 of it. Armor is dark green
Air Force consiters if helicopters and planes and such and help move equipment and soldiers around rapidly as well as air supports. For the most part is made up of unicorns and earth ponies as pegasi and changeling can already fly and they wear lightly armored flight suits.
The navy is well all the militisry ships of the EDF think modern ships and you got an idea. Usual wear dark blue uniforms
Shadow walkers are changeling infiltrators and act as the intelagence branch of the military as well as removing some threats quietly when needed.
The EMSD Facitly is the Equestrian Military Science Division and is basicly where are the army's R&D take place. Mostly composed of researchers with onsite security.
Iron gate is the prison built by the army to house the worst of the worst. It is sort of a limbo as inmates are those deemed to dangerous or evil for the dungeons but not evil enough for tarturas and is located far to the north past the Crystal Empire. It is not a plesent place to be sent as inmates are kept alive and given a few basic amenities and that's about it. They tend to have a shoot in sight policy for attempt escapes or fights with guards or anyone found outside of their cell after lights out or where inmates shouldn't be.
The space station is exactly that. A space station in orbit around the planet and is used for research as well as a few....classified things involving the military.
The royal guard is basicly the equivalent of modern police forces and their armor is more ceremonial now in modern times. They also have an ongoing rivalry with the army and both are always trying to outdo the other but they do work together well as JTS mostly just off duty when things can get put of hand and bar fights happen and such. It is a friendly rivalry.
Protection details are those guards who protect the princess directly and are more trained then the normal guards and have a few more resourcs.
That's the basics but factor in the whole purpose of the third book as most of this hasn't been covered Ina blog or book yet.

Personality: kind, but able to crack down if needed. hates bullies.
Bio: Draconic hammer Was always lonely. he had a problem where he would randomly jump from pony to dragon form. as you can guess, randomly wearing armor doesn't make you look like you're very friendly. his mother worked at the hospital, often running out the door when he came home, and his father was a dragon. needless to say, he didn't see very much of him. one day while he was heating up dinner, he burned his hoof and left the stove on. when he got back, the whole house was on fire and her couldn't get out. just as help arrived the house collapsed on him. he somehow survived though. when he got out of the hospital, his classmates stayed even further away from him. he was abandoned by his mother, and left out to the streets. eventually he was contacted by iron gate and has worked there ever since. (you can change this some, i have no idea how it works to become a guard there)
Extra: the tips of his mane reflect how he's feeling. he can also swap between pony form, and a dragon form. in dragon form he has a natural plate like armor, and his mane hardens into spikes. swapping between forms in exhausting though, and he can only do it a few times each day before he gets stuck. he also ages at 1/4 the age of ponies due to his dragon heritage.
