For the sake of Twaith · 4:56am Apr 30th, 2016
I am cutting Save Me off like a diseased leg. It's not that I dislike it, it's not that I think the idea was bad. No. I really liked the idea behind Save Me. However, it's not what I want out of Twaith, and it's not what Twaith is. Twaith is more a jab of weekly cutes (supposed to be weekly at least), but Save Me was me being dark, and adventurous, which I approve of and enjoy, but it's not Twaith. It's not 20k minimum of Twaith at least.
Yeah, it was going to be LOOOOOONG.
I blame this, and a lack of ideas for it, to be a large part of why I haven't updated in so long. The task ahead of me was simply too daunting, especially with another arc from the invasion planned (and the intro is about half written), for me to continue. I hope you understand.
HOWEVER! it is not going to be nixed from canon in the Twaith universe. While the whole story there will be... dubious, the beginning and end will not be, and I should be able to come back to Twaith with kind of a recap of what really needs to be known, and the big revelation Twilight went through to allow herself to stay safe for other ponies. This comes with one other thing, but since I'm about to lose my teasing privileges, I'll leave this as a tease for it right now. Sorry.
So yeah, hopefully about to run off and write a chapter of Twaith, HOPEFULLY, and we can keep going as I always wanted. Also, for the heck of it, Q&A me if you want to about Twaith and Save Me, and etc.
I'm...actually rather pleased to hear this. As much as I enjoy Twaith, the only reason I even tried to read "Save Me" was because it was Twaith. It's certainly not the sort of story I'd normally read otherwise. I am looking forward to the summary, though.
I'm also kind of pleased by this. "Save Me" isn't really my usual fare and has been sitting on my "stuff to read eventually" list at the worst possible time for it to be doing so.
(Right now, I'm starting to wean myself off my fanfiction addiction in favour of the massive pile of sci-fi novels and video games I continued to collect when the discovery of anime, manga, and fanfiction dominated my time roughly a decade ago.)
I certainly don't mind as you have already said, it's more of a serious darker tone of a story that I would probably consider an AU when things go south past the current Twaith chapter. When the inspiration comes, it comes. Take your time and come back to it when you feel like you can.
