Huh... neat new group. · 1:54am Apr 14th, 2016
While this holy gift to the internet will always be my #1 group, a new one popped up on my trending list, entitled "Don't be a cunt." Let's take a look...
We all like hearing feedback right?
We like to see that little notice " someone commented on my story!!!"
Only to find out that its some douche monger who posted "your grammar sucks, go die somewhere and never try at writing again +1 dislike"
yeah.... that person is what is called a cunt. We here at DONT BE A CUNT, frown upon this behavior.
We focus entirely upon well... not being a cunt. You see, you CAN be a total asshole and be negative every last step of the way stomping on people's dreams under the guise of "helping them learn" while really you are just an obnoxious sociopath. Or you could be a decent human being.
PREACH!
Though in all seriousness. We are a group that exists to give REAL feedback, we desire to reward kindness and hard work, while shunning unneeded hostility and negativity. If there is nothing good to say then we will be silent. And we are rarely silent.
We intend on collecting decent human beings and putting them together so we can separate the negative from the positive on this site and make the fandom better as a whole. To HELP people grow in their creativity and writing instead of stomping on them
So if you want to either get REAL feedback and or be a decent person then come join us... and remember Don't be a cunt.
I'm not very active in groups, but this one gets all my yes. Good intentions coupled with snarky and irreverent humor makes me wonder if it's time to finally start pre-reading in a setting I can appreciate.
Oh I know that group... I love it a lot
Good advice. Reminds me of what my dear old mother used to tell me when I was a wee young lad, pining for the lights of the big city:
"Don't be a cunt. "
I don't mind criticism in the slightest—I actually much prefer a scathing comment over a mute dislike—but I prefer for it to be expressed in a way that does not resemble the hypothetical manifestation of a vulgar representation of a female's genitals.
I know the feeling I just got done posting a few chapters to my new story Vengeance and it has already gotten 15 dislikes and only ten likes. Don't really understand why people keep adding it to there favorites then click the dislike button or tab afterwards.
