Bought my BABSCon ticket today, so all of the local bronies can stop freaking out. You will get to see me in all of my glory, which is basically just a shirt with lots of sequins on it.
What? You don't consider that glory? Look, pal, sequin-y shirts are what pushed back the Nazis on the beaches of Normandy! Abraham Lincoln had sequins on when he gave the Emancipation Proclamation. Don't shake your head at me! You can't deny their power.
Anyway, all three people that want to see me will get their fix, but more importantly, I'll get to see them. I'm getting the better end of that deal, let me tell you! I might even shower.
(Fun fact: I can't stand to be dirty. I shower at least twice a day and more if I can help it. Not so fun during the drought.)
So one thing that I'm noticing is that a lot of the writing panels have a distinct /mlp/ leaning. I can't say I'm super thrilled about that, but we'll see how they go. Regidar is hosting one, and he was entertaining to be around last year. If things get too dire, I can always standing the hallway and holler my own opinions about writing to passers-by in a rambling, incoherent fashion. It'd be a close approximation of my writing process. Well, my old writing process. My new process is not to do it. I could simulate that by staying home.
Is this to be taken that way that you don't write MLP: FiM fics at all anymore? I'm wondering, cause your last statement about the matter didn't sound like it.
3865668 The only thing that I'm currently writing is the story that I share with Steel Resolve. I have an interest in writing a few more stories, but right now I'm a little too busy with personal stuff to do it. I'd like to say that I'm going to sit down and bang out another story, but I'm just not sure. I do have a story that I wrote on a lark that I might polish up and put up here, but we'll see. I do have a desire to write more, but it's not a super strong desire.
But phrased it that way above because it's the current truth. I'm not writing anything currently.

The bathroom next to the pool at that hotel has a shower. I'm sleeping in my car this year instead of getting a room, so I'm going to be using it a lot.
Just sequins? Or sequins and jazz hands? 'Cause if you've got good jazz hands too, I'm not sure how we managed to luck out enough to get you here instead of bringing down evil third-world dictatorships.
But yes! Looking forward to seeing you! There will be writing gathering stuff going on. Much lower key than last year's suite — Xepher and I don't want to spend our whole weekend party-sitting, but we do want to encourage a literary hang-out.

3866491 True enough. Though I am willing to spend SOME of my money helping a few fellow writers get drinkinated, last year was a bit too much of a time commitment to properly relax.

My con roommate Jesse has made noises about making more mixed drinks similar to last year's, though I personally would draw the line at an open room party with an open bar. About the limit of what I'm thinking is, throw up a bunch of signs for a fanfic author gathering, and if there just happens to be alcohol in the room when authors are there, we can share it (in accordance with convention and federal regulations).
I'm open to hitting the con on Thursday (I have Thursday and Friday off work), but I don't have crash space until Friday and I'm a four-hour drive out.
