...as if 'writing fanfic about a children's cartoon' wasn't qualifier enough. But still!
Anyway, having finished BY THE BLACK AXE OF NIGHTMARE MOON! I was again left with a "well, now what?" sort of aimlessness. That is, until I began to cobble together some other ideas in my head, and once I came up with the far too appropriate title of Let Me Tell You About My Character. I've got the gist of this story planned out-- though I'm going to be busy this weekend, so more chapters likely won't be created 'til about Monday or so.
Again, playing around in the Equestria Girls sandbox has opened up the kind of stuff that would be a lot harder to work with with the normal ponies. I may be getting a bit spoiled, here.
"Ponies play D&D" is a pretty well-worn fanfic concept, to be honest. However! As I tinker around with this story, I've got some different stuff in mind than the standard "I seduce the tavern wench!" gags. Which isn't to say that this story won't be silly (seriously, I think I'm incapable of writing something that's not a comedy), but still. I'm gonna play around with ideas about identity and friendship and some other vague stuff inbetween the nerd jokes.
Oh, and speaking of nerd stuff, ChronoQuest isn't an actual RPG, natch. However, I will be drawing a lot of stuff from my own experiences in various LARPs and other RPGs, 'cause, again, I'm a super nerd. And heck, if you guys ask nicely enough, I may even write up a blog post going into the various nerdy games I'm drawing ideas and experiences from!
