Rarity: CAN'T YOU SEE THE FIRE IN HER EYES?
[chorus of the blasphemes blasts as Maud makes eye contact with the conpony]
This was a very fun episode. A lot of it was referential, but we got more Maud, which is always nice. I don't actually have a ton of things to say about this episode; we got Maud sense, which confirms that the Pies have some sort of bizarre thing going on with them (as if we didn't know that already.) I also liked the more in-depth view of Manehattan that we got, and the fact that Rarity's dream is expanding beyond Canterlot. Shows that we've still got a ways to go with the series. The policemare and the conpony really added some nice texture to the pony world, and the animators are still giving it their all with the new faces we got.
So far, we're two for two (technically three for three but whatever) on this season. I have high hopes for the rest of season six; while this episode wasn't as amazing as the opener, this was still an awesome as hell episode. I hope the rest of the season is as strong.
The Crystaling
The Gift of Maud Pie
It's all about the glorious character interaction. Rarity's Pinkie impression was very fun.
Agreed. Great start to the season. I liked being able to see more of Maud and boulder especially.
I feel like the comedy was more on point in this episode than in most we've gotten. A lot of the jokes hit for me, and I even found myself laughing out at loud a few of them. All three of the main characters were pretty well-written, and Manehatten is given more personality.
I'd say it was quite enjoyable.
