After the break, is a bonus for reading this blogpost; a what-if scenario where Twilight didn't trigger and get her cutiemark.
“I’m sorry for wasting your time...” Twilight said, a tone of disappointment in her voice.
The yellow mare let out a sigh. “Do you know why you couldn’t hatch the egg?”
“Because I’m not a sorcerer.” Twilight said, looking at the judges with tears in her eyes.
The light blue stallion had a smile on his face. “Why ever would we expect sorcery from you?”
“Because that would’ve been the only way for me to hatch the egg on my own, since it would’ve otherwise required a flame from the species of dragon that laid the egg.” Twilight said.
“Well, we have to give you credit for trying to use hoof gesture magic in your attempt at sorcery,” the light blue stallion said.
“And you didn’t think setting the hay on fire would hatch the egg.” the beige mare said.
“Or thought you could hatch it by sitting on it.” the grey stallion said, with a snicker.
The judges all looked at each other, then nodded their heads in agreement.
“I hereby welcome you to Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. In the future though, remember to ask questions when presented with a neigh impossible task, assumptions and overthinking will only get you in trouble.” the yellow mare said, then the group of judges began to shuffle out through a door behind them.
Twilight was stunned in silence, with her mouth agape. What?
Velvet and Night Light walked over to Twilight, smiles on their faces.
“I knew you could do it.” Velvet said.
“Now how about we go to Pony Joe’s?” Night Light said.
Twilight continued to stand stupefied by what had happened. How?
The two proud parents looked at each other with an amused look, then Night Light took hold of her in his magic and placed her on his back.
I… passed? A smile slowly formed on her face.“I passed!” Twilight said, as they left the room and headed toward Pony Joe’s.
