Been a while, huh? I've had too much going on lately to spend a lot of time playing, and most of the time I have spent on the game, I've been doing sidequests or trying to befriend new Youkai.

At this point, there's just no way in hell I'm getting every Youkai medal in one playthrough. If it's even possible to do at all. So I'll probably pick away at the postgame from time to time (once I beat the game) and see just how much I can do, but outside of that, once I've beaten the game, I probably won't do a second playthrough anytime soon. Besides, I've got a massive and I do mean MASSIVE pile of games in my backlog, quite a few of which are for 3DS...

On that note, as I write this, I'm about to beat the game. As in, I'm on my way to the end boss. Next week will be the last regular Yo-Kai Watchday post; there'll be more related to the post-game as developments permit, of course.

Katie's Summer Diary #10

Ugh...I don't wanna get up this morning...

Whisper woke me up way too early, eager to start an investigation into the recent rise of bad Youkai activity.

Whisper suggests starting by questioning some of my teachers, since the activity seems to be centered around the school. Sure, Whisper, I'll get right on that. Right after I run around doing stuff I want to do.

The first thing I took care of: upgrading my Youkai Watch to A-rank! I had to crawl around a lot of nasty, icky sewers to find the three Youkai I needed to fight for this test. Yuck!

An amazing thing happened today: I activated every seal on one of the strange pages in the back of the Medallium...and the seals summoned a Legendary Youkai! I just befriended the Legendary Shogunyan! ...which is pretty much Jibanyan doing samurai cosplay, but okay!

When I finally decided to get back to business, I went over to the school and talked to my science teacher about strange things happening. He said that there's supposed to be a crystal ball over at Shoten Temple that can show you anything you want to see!

...sure, let's go with that. Way to give a kid a science lesson, sensei!

Anyway, so I found a Mirapo in the school and warped to Shoten Temple because I'm too lazy to walk or ride my bike all the way over there. It turns out the crystal ball is actually a Youkai named Draggie! He traded his services for a Sawtooth Stag, then showed us where we need to go next to continue our investigation:

*gulp*

...that creepy hospital over in the shopping district.

Whisper, Draggie, and I head out to that creepy old hospital. Inside, we find a Leadoni acting as receptionist and claiming it's a Youkai treatment clinic! Something fishy is going on here, that's for sure.

Anyway, the Youkai running this place make me go through a bunch of physical exams before they'll let me meet the Youkai running the place. They measure my height, give me the weirdest eye exam ever, then tell me to go up to the X-ray room...

If any of these creepy Youkai ask me to get undressed, I'm so out of here.

In the X-ray room, the Youkai attendant takes a really creepy, weird X-ray of me and then gets uppity when I tell him it looks super gross and wrong. I end up battling him with my Youkai friends, then I get summoned to the director's office. The director tells me that I'm overworked and need "a change of heart" and tells me to go to the operating room while he preps for immediate surgery.

...wait. WHAT?!

It turns out that the hospital director is an evil Youkai who wants to cut out my heart! Yikes!! My Youkai friends operated on him instead. After the battle, he yelled out a name...

Draggie's crystal ball showed us a vision of an evil Youkai giving a speech to a huge army of Youkai baddies!

...they're planning a full-scale invasion of the human world!

Can...can I really stop something like this...?
