BECAUSE MY BRAIN DON'T WORK TOO GOOD
Fun Fact: I actually typed up a "Random Ramblings 42" post three days ago to talk about the one-year anniversary of writing Highs & Lows, but evidently I closed my browser without actually posting it. Boy do I feel like an idiot.
Instead, I feel a need to rant about writing (what else is new?). Here we go.
I thought I would be finished with the latest chapter of "Break Time" by now. Unfortunately, life keeps distracting me. More importantly, I found myself stuck in the story. The gist of it is this: Mayor Mare has run out of moonshine and she has Spike haul in Applebloom to rebuild her still and make more.
The problem is, it turns out I don't know how to make that funny. Applebloom apparently learned how to distill from Zecora (makes sense when you think about it). But I found myself getting bogged down in the process. It makes perfect sense why they'd make moonshine behind the school – it probably has a boiler sufficient to heat the still – but the question is should Applebloom understand that she's making highly alcoholic moonshine? So far the story suggests "no", and that it was a tea recipe gone wrong. I don't want 'Bloom to join in on the Mayor and Spike's drunkenness… though that would be funny considering I want the chapter to end with Applejack or Twilight (or both) showing up.
I'm probably going to have to scrap half or more of what I've written and start over. Bleh.
The most disappointing part for me is that I can't multitask for shit, so no other stories kicking around my brain can be written until I've finished this.
