For whatever reason, I had a huge urge to draw some little things tonight, and ended up doodling some Chosen Love characters that I thought you might like to see! Bad OCs I Have Created in the Past · 12:43am Mar 4th, 2016
About two years ago, when I first got into the fandom, I created two OCs that, if I posted their stories onto this site, would be ripped to shreds and flooded with dislikes.
I want to share them with you, and give you a laugh and (most likely) a few cringes. Also, take this as a lesson: don't make OCs like these. I even cringe thinking back to them.
Head below the break to hear the overly-done backstories of two ponies I once claimed as my own.
Well, I'll start out with the one that would receive less hate (maybe?).
Her name is Princess Dazzlenote. Well, she used to be just Dazzlenote.
(I don't have a picture for her because I couldn't find an OC that looks like her, and I never made art of her. She is basically a white alicorn with a two-toned brown mane and purple eyes.)
Dazzlenote was born in a land outside of Equestria, where ponies went to live if they didn't want to be under the rule of a princess. Dazzlenote was born as an alicorn because her mother was a unicorn and her father was a Pegasus. However, her wings were large, and nopony understood why.
Throughout her life, there were barely any ponies that accepted her. Most foals were rude to her, since they thought she was trying to be a princess and go against the purpose of what the town was for.
Despite everything, she was able to find her cutie mark: a sun with a music note in it. This resembled her strange talent of light magic as well as her amazing singing voice.
She did meet a few friends. One of them was Rarity. For some reason (I forget what I thought of at the time), Rarity and her parents visited the town often. She ran into Dazzlenote, and the two became great friends. After years of seeing each other at least once a year, Rarity became an adult and got busy with work, so she wasn't able to visit Dazzlenote.
One day, Dazzle decided to leave her home and go to Equestria. Rarity had told her how much better Equestria is than the town she was currently living in.
When she got to Equestria, she introduced herself to Princess Celestia. She told Celestia about herself, and, after going through some genealogy records, it was uncovered that Dazzlenote was distantly related to Celestia and Luna. So, Celestia made her a princess. She was named the Princess of Music because of her talent.
Okay, you probably cringed more than once while reading that.
Well, onto the next one!
His name is Prince Dark Phantom.
His design reminds me a bit of this OC; just for visuals.
Prince Dark Phantom was born as the youngest brother of Celestia and Luna. He has a black coat with a flowing black mane that has a few streaks of white in it.
Dark Phantom got his cutie mark in raising the stars. He also has night magic, which could make any area dark. It's like Dazzlenote's light magic. His cutie mark is a moon with little stars inside that look like craters. So, he basically has two talents.
He always had the best relationship with Luna compared to Celestia. Celestia liked research and was serious quite a bit of the time. Luna, on the other hand, was always silly and fun. Dark Phantom and Luna would frequently run around in the nighttime. Dark Phantom realized during one of his outings with Luna that he could easily blend into the darkness.
After Luna became Nightmare Moon and was imprisoned in the moon, Dark Phantom felt lonely. Celestia was always too busy to talk with him, so he dealt with his struggles by himself. He soon became corrupt and lonely, so did what Luna did, and tried to leave the world in everlasting night.
He grew a bit taller like Luna did, and he grew fangs. Though, now, he could travel underground or anywhere he wants through dark voids, which are only activated when he's in his nightmare form.
Celestia was forced to send him to the moon for 1,000 years as well, which made him even more upset with her. He hung out with Luna for those years, and the two kept each other company on the moon.
When he returned, which was a few years or so after Luna's return, he hid himself in a dark void, because he left the moon in his nightmare form. This happens at around the time that Princess Dazzlenote comes to Equestria. So, all the princesses (including Dazzle) and the mane six help stop him. When they try to get to him, he silently captures Dazzlenote and takes her to an underground place which the void had access to. He just wanted to strike fear in ponies, and have somepony to keep him company.
While with him, Dazzle sees him as a lonely stallion who wants somepony in his life to care for him besides his own sister. Even though she was afraid, she felt bad for him.
Princess Luna soon found him, because he had shown her how to get through his dark voids while they were on the moon, and stopped him. He changed back into his normal self again, and was happily accepted back by his sisters and Equestria.
After reformation, he and Dazzle start to slowly fall in love with each other. But, that's where I end the story.
Yeah... take this as a lesson. These OCs are total Mary/Gary Sues, no doubt about it. I created them before realizing that alicorn OCs are hated in this fandom, so I left them at the back of my mind.

God... they're horrible. I'm sorry. Just... no. To be honest, I don't hate alicorn OC's, but you better come up with a good backstory or else your head is mine. Unless they're the kid of one of the princesses. Then it's perfectly fine. Or, in PTH's case, is imbued with a mysterious dark magic that has to be kept under control by a horn called... i'll let you find out for yourself.
