    BUGHORSE NEWS

Yes, I bring good news of Chrysalis story. I have finished the first draft of the next chapter and the editing team has already made a first pass on it. There's still a lot to do to polish it, but I'm hopeful that I can have it up and ready for your hungry eyes in one week. Keep a lookout!

    Life is Snow

No really, this isn't some vague metaphor. My life is literally snow right now. I'm drowning, send help.

    New year, new chapter

Hope everyone is having a great New Year's Eve (or if you're in a part of the world where it's already 2022, hope the new year's been treating you well so far). Good news: the next chapter of Paint the Sky is written, we just need to take it through a few rounds of edits and revisions before I'm ready to post it. It will probably go live at the usual time on Wednesday.

The End of I Against I, Me Against You · 10:25pm Feb 16th, 2016

I have to say, it feels weird to finally be done after working on this project for roughly 2 and a half years. Overall, I think I'm satisfied with how it turned out. There are a lot of aspects of it I'm not happy about, and if I was to start the whole thing again now, there's more than a few things I would do differently. Most notably, I'd probably make the story less reliant on following the actual story of RvB so closely. The part of IAIMAY that I'm probably the least satisfied with is probably the ending chapters of Act 2. I feel that I'd written myself into a corner by having the fic begin before Church finds out he's the Alpha, and I'm not happy that I wasn't able to figure out how to do that reveal without making it so close to how it happens in the actual show. If I had to write this fic again, I'd probably do it so that Church learned about his origins before the fic begins, but hides it from Twilight when they first meet, either telling her when their relationship has developed enough, or have Twilight figure it out on her own.

But I digress, I'm quite happy with how the story turned out as a whole, and am especially glad that Act 3 turned out as well as it did, considering there were a lot of elements that I wasn't sure how I was going to pull off. If anything, writing and publishing IAIMAY was a hard-earned lesson in foreshadowing and subtlety, as many of you had correctly guessed the big plot twist in Act 3 very early on (fortunately, I was able to think of a way to implement more than a few red herrings in response to this. I'm still kinda proud of "Sacred Home").

Now, to answer the question that you're all probably wondering about: What about a sequel?

I'm gonna be honest: when I first conceived of this story, I wasn't planning on making a sequel. It was originally just going to be a one off thing, and if I had thought I would be writing a sequel, I might have done a few things very differently *coughlikenotkilloffSimmonscough*. However, since I started writing this story, the Chorus trilogy came out, and I got a whole slew of new ideas for how to continue the story of these little ponies and their red and blue buddies. Suffice to say, some of the ideas in my head are really devious, and if I use the lessons I learned from writing this story about correctly applying foreshadowing, there will be a few twists that even long term fans of both series should be hard-pressed to predict! :trixieshiftright: Who knows, maybe I already sprinkled bits of foreshadowing to the sequel throughout the final act....

Now, it'll be at least a year, probably longer before I'll truly be ready to even start writing IAIMAY2 (if that's even the title I'm going to go with). However, I advise you to keep tracking this story. Just because the big green "Complete" icon is there now doesn't mean there won't be some kind of epilogue or stinger....

In the meantime, I have a couple of other projects that I'm going to start working on for you all to enjoy. One of them is a side story to IAIMAY that I had originally given to another author to release early in Act 3 to tie together a little plot device there, but unfortunately said author was understandably swamped with other projects. I also have a very interesting idea for another, much shorter crossover with another Rooster Teeth property. I haven't seen anything like it on Fimfiction yet, so I'm excited to work on it.

Just keep looking forward everyone. This is only the beginning.

Well, I will be looking forward to the sequel if it does come about as I enjoyed this story quite a bit. and would love to see the ponies react to Felix, Locus, and the two factions on Chorus as well as see how the events play out with key players removed from the story.

Also would love to see Twilight and Dr. Grey interact as that would be very amusing.

bust most of all I'd just like one simple question answered that was left un answered in the story though the side fic may deal with it.

and that one question is: Where's Doc?

3759334 I know, I've seen the Chorus trilogy, I meant in this story? Doc was last seen of The Mother of Invention before the Reds and Blue headed for Equestria and then was never heard from again.

Where can I like this blog? :fluttershysad:

Everyone knows a character isn't REALLY dead until you see their corpse on screen (or on paper). Simmons is like Schrodinger's cat right now in his little box dimension, up to you to decide when to open that box and what pops out.

Glad to hear we're getting more IAIMAY in the future! :twilightblush:

A much shorter crossover with an RT property nobody's seen on FImfic yet? The Strangerhood?

3759885 I should clarify, it's not the property itself thats never been seen before on this site, but more the... interpretation and execution.

I gotta tell ya, it's been one helluva ride. Man, the day the final chapter went up, I read it and watched Deadpool to get over the shock of the RWBY Volume 3 finale.

I still find it amazing that you've managed to pull off a FiM/RvB crossover fic that greatly blends the elements of both shows.

I too am curious to see where you'll go next not just with this series but whatever other story you'll come up with.

I myself haven't written anything in a while, and I hope to change that soon. I've been running through a MLP/Roosterteeth crossover myself; more specifically:
Equestria Girls // X-Ray and Vav
