    See Ya!

It's been a while since I posted a story! Heck, it's been almost a year and a half! Boy did time fly by. I wasn't active last year, not even through blogging, so consider this my update... and goodbye. Sorry to say, but I think it's high time I take my leave. It's been an up and down two and a half years on this site, but I don't think I'll regret it in the end.

    So here's the haps!

Soundtrack to My Life · 7:21pm Feb 11th, 2016

Ever heard about the iTunes Shuffle Game? 'Cause I have! Basically, you get a series of questions or bullet points, and you answer them with the song that plays next in a shuffle. Here's one called Soundtrack to Your Life (source).

Before I start, I feel the need to warn you that I have a massive playlist. Instead of making new ones, I dump albums into the old one. I'm using my largest, 500+ song list! I'm making a rule that the same band can't appear twice.

Here we go!

Opening Credits:

I see we're going for the ominous, dramatic tone. :trollestia:

Waking Up:

First Day of School:

"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!"
...Not how I prefer to start the year. :twilightoops:

Falling in Love:

Aw, too perfect~

Fight Song:

This is too perfect.

Prom:

Life:

Mental Breakdown:

I AM AN ANTICHRIST. I AM AN ANARCHIST.

Driving:

Flashback:

A flash back of a dark memory, perhaps?

Getting Back Together:

Well, if we're getting back together, I guess we're going big. :rainbowderp:

Losing Your Virginity:

...I swear I didn't add that myself. Blame shuffle.

Wedding:

Birth of Child:

Final Battle:

Fanden Sie diese in einen Übersetzer setzen?

Death Scene:

"You're in the jungle, babe! You gonna die!"

Funeral Song:

Oh, yes! Too fitting. :derpytongue2:

End Credits:

Paint it Black returns for a hurrah in the credits. Must've been an important flashback.

What a wonderful story! I was hoping for a bit more variety in the song genres, but this is still neato burrito. :raritywink: What will you get?

*Remember, bandwagon blogs are banned nowadays. If you'd like to do your own, keep it in the comments or do it on your own accord.

Opening Credits: A Spoonful Weighs a Ton - The Flaming Lips

Waking Up: Who Needs Sleep? - Barenaked Ladies
'kay, that's pretty on spot.

First Day of School: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 2 - The Flaming Lips
Not sure what to think about this one. I guess I'm spending my first day at school as a robot fighting Japanese schoolgirl?

Falling in Love: Kick out the Jams - Presidents of the USA
I'll take it.

Fight Song: Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger
Sure, we can say I get pumped up by mildly angsty songs from the mid-90's.

Prom: Dance, Soterios Johnson, Dance - Jonathan Coulton
I swear I didn't do that.

Life: Won't Want for Love (Margaret in the Taiga) - The Decemberists
So, I get knocked up by a fairy and sit in the woods being wicked horny? Yeah, sure, that describes my life perfectly.

Mental Breakdown: Free Radicals - The Flaming Lips
Yeah, just about any Lips song would fit this category. Wayne Coyne's f-ing weird, yo.

Driving: Mountain Kind - MC Frontalot
So, apparently I drive stoned a lot.

Flashback: Communication Breakdown - Led Zeppelin

Getting Back Together: Back in the USSR - The Beatles
Yeah, I need to face facts. She's not coming back.

Losing Your Virginity: Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men
I lost it to a couple of Icelandic ghosts. Huh, not how I remember it.
Coulda sworn they were Swedish

Wedding: Tighten Up - The Black Keys

Birth of Child: Dance to the Music - Sly & the Family Stone
Well, I was pretty happy.

Final Battle: Stand - Blues Traveler
Eh, it works.

Death Scene: The Fool on the Hill - The Beatles
Well, that's...less than awesome.

Funeral Song: We Will Rock You - Queen
Alright, y'all're WAY too happy about this!

End Credits: What a Good Boy - Barenaked Ladies
Ehh...

Oh my. Given the eclecticness of my iTunes, this will be very interesting. Let's see what happens...

Opening Credits: Good Morning Baltimore — Hairspray Movie Soundtrack
Positive and optimistic to the point of being worrisome. Sounds about right.

Waking Up: The Unbroken Thread — Symphony of Science
Hell of a thing to wake up to, but it wouldn't be the first time I've contemplated the beginning of life early in the morning.

First Day of School: Tortimer Island Medley — Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Soundtrack
Apparently this is the first day of school in the Carribean according to Hollywood. Works for me.

Falling in Love: Cheat Commandos Theme — Homestar Runner
... Well. You can't make this stuff up, folks. I suppose love can bloom on the individually sold, die-cast plastic battlefield.

Fight Song: No Place Like London — Sweeny Todd Movie Soundtrack
More a battle of ideas than bodies. Rather appropriate for me, really.

Prom: Moonlight Serenade — Glenn Miller & His Orchestra
Now that's more like it. Perfect slow song.

Life: Master Hand — Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Soundtrack
Apparently, everyday life for me entails battling a god of creation. I suppose it could be seen as my muse wrestling with my procrastination. Sure, let's go with that.

Mental Breakdown: Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (Company Bow) — Spamalot Original Cast Recording
Denial and delusion. Singing the theme of Brian on the cross, then bowing to an audience that may not even be there. Probably how I'd go mad, yes.

Driving: Rhythmortis (Lobby Remix) — Crypt of the NecroDancer: The Melody Mixes
Like any Crypt of the NecroDancer song, it's got an awesome beat to it. I could definitely drive to this.

Flashback: The Friendship Games — MLP: Equestria Girls: Friendship Games Soundtrack
It has been a while since high school, but I don't recall any superpowered magic fights in front of the place. I guess that's what I get for skipping prom.

Getting Back Together: Fun Chase — Ren & Stimpy Production Music Vol. 2 (Link unavailable, song possibly mislabeled.)
Wow. Happiest, zaniest reunion ever.

Losing Your Virginity: Canadian Idiot — "Weird Al" Yankovic
:derpyderp1: Well. That's a thing. Pretty sure that's an inadvisable use of maple syrup.

Wedding: Mona Pizza's Song (Japanese) — Super Smash Bros. Brawl Soundtrack
Oh, for the love of... Talk about your statistical anomalies. In any case, it's clear who we'll ask to cater.

Birth of Child: Paperback Writer — The Beatles
Note to self: Do not jot down ideas for stories while wife is in labor.

Final Battle: Kirby's Dreamland — University of Maryland Gamer Symphony Orchestra
Facing down cosmic horror, armed only with my hunger and ability to imitate others. I got this.

Death Scene: Terror adhaerens — Puella Magi Madoka Magica Music Collection
Sounds like my death is only the beginning of a greater darkness. Aw man, I'm just the guy who gets killed to build tension. :fluttershysad:

Funeral Song: Underworld — Super Smash Bros. Brawl Soundtrack
Well, the good news is that I may be able to fight my way out of the afterlife and attend my own funeral. The bad news is that I might get turned into an eggplant first.

End Credits: Under Our Spell — MLP: Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks Soundtrack
I am not sure how I feel about the sirens providing the closer for the show of my life. Especially given how it implies that someone's free will is getting overwritten. Still, I can't deny that Adagio cackling at the end of every episode is pretty neat.

Well, that was an interesting experiment. Certainly says a lot about my taste in music. (The Beach Boys came up next, for the record.)

Limiting this to my five star playlist, because otherwise I'm going to keep getting a lot of Doctor Who Big Finish stories.

Opening Credits: Wiseman (James Blunt)

Waking Up: 3AM (Matchbox 20). Of course.

First Day of School: 19 20 20 (The Grates)

Falling in Love: Will You Love Me Tomorrow (The Shirelles)

Fight Song: Where My Girl's At (702)

Prom : Deeper Water (Deadstar)

Life: Ana's Song (Silverchair). A song about Daniel Johns' battle with anorexia.

Mental Breakdown: SOS (Cherry)

Driving: Poetry in Motion (Johnny Tillotson)

Flashback: Kiss Me (Sixpence None the Richer)

Getting Back Together: A Groovy Kind of Love (Wayne Fontana)

Losing Your Virginity: Total Eclipse of the Heart (Westlife)

Wedding: Sway (Bic Runga)

Birth of Child: I'm Into Something Good (Herman's Hermits)

Final Battle: Gone Down to London (Joe Jackson)

Death Scene: Into the Dark (Ben Lee)

Funeral Song: Fighter (Christina Aguilera)

End Credits: When You're Gone (Avril Lavigne)

I'll be limiting mine to English language songs and keeping it to one band.

Opening Credits: I Walk Beside You by Dream Theater

Waking Up: Gettysburg (1863) by Iced Earth
It does take me a while to get up and I'm often irritated when I do, so that works.

First Day of School: Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger

Falling in Love: Captain Morgan's Revenge by Alestorm
And that's why I'm single.

Fight Song: Planet Hell by Nightwish
I'm a pretty peaceful guy, so this would have to be a world of shit for that to happen. Fitting song.

Prom: No One Fits Me (Better Than You) by Airbourne

Life: Mistress of Pain by Death's Angels
This is a time where I really wish I was a girl, just for the song to work.

Mental Breakdown: (Saving Up For An) Anal Bleach by Freak Kitchen
Well then.

Driving: Straight to Hell by Rage
Since I haven't ever driven, it's likely that I would be driving on the highway to hell. *rimshot*

Flashback: I See Demons by Book of Black Earth

Getting Back Together: Anaconda by Jared Dines
It turns out that my anaconda does want some.

Losing Your Virginity: Bang Bang by Monophonics
I couldn't have planned that any better.

Wedding: Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion by Meshuggah
That's one hell of a wedding.

Birth of Child: A Blighted Hope by Hoth
I don't want kids, anyway.

Final Battle: Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags by Amon Amarth
There's no other song I'd want playing for my final battle.

Death Scene: Birthday Dethday by Dethklok
You ironic bastard, iTunes.

Funeral Song: Funeral of Queen Mary from A Clockwork Orange
I swear, this isn't rigged.

End Credits: Desolation by Lamb of God

Please don't judge this, my SD card became corrupted and I haven't finished copying back from my backup, so it's either millions of random songs or the three albums I have from my favorite band. I'll remove the former because they just don't fit. All the songs here are by the Protomen, and I'm not including the two cover albums they've made.

Opening Credits: Vengeance
Alright, fighting-style it is.

Waking Up: The State vs. Thomas Light
Changing the pace really fast, aren't we? Well, since I'm waking up, I guess it can be slower. Still dramatic, though.

First Day of School: Hold Back the Night
Apparently the school I'm going to has seen some better days. And someone thinks there's nothing we can do to save it. Wow.

Falling in Love: Here Comes the Arm
I don't know what to say. My beloved is dead. And wrote a letter for me.

Fight Song: The Sons of Fate.
THIS FITS SO WELL! Just go listen to this one already.

Prom : The Stand (Man or Machine)
There are no Prom Kings left in men?

Life: Give Us the Rope
Alright, people hate me. They want to hang me, and then to crucify me.

Mental Breakdown: Due Vendetta
Again, this fits so well. Not the song itself, but the fact that it just gets really broken at the end, saying "Game Over".

Driving: Intermission
I'm a calm driver. Fast people must hate me.

Flashback: Breaking Out
My past is also not that good. Whatever, the song's good.

Getting Back Together: This City Made Us
I really don't know what to say here.

Losing Your Virginity: The Fall
So funny, playlist. So funny.

Wedding: Keep Quiet
I swear I'm not picking these up on purpose.

Birth of Child: Light Up the Night
...My child will blow up a tower?

Final Battle: The Hounds
I haven't even started and I've already lost the battle. Good job.

Death Scene: Father of Death
I SWEAR I'M NOT CHOOSING THESE SONGS!

Funeral Song: Funeral for a Son
And the playlist continues to choose the perfect songs.

End Credits: Hope Rides Alone
Way to summarize my life, credits. I fight, I lose.

Seriously, if I had more songs, it'd be way better. However, if I needed to summarize this soundtrack, I'd say one thing: I shouldn't have chosen albums that actually tell a linear story that can't be understood without the whole context.
Also, never shuffle a playlist with The Protomen. It sucks.

So... I'm Smart and Just Shuffled all 1608 songs I have on my Ipod. So this was the result oddly fitting at times.
Opening Credits : Song For Someone, U2
Waking Up : Love You Till the End, The Pouges
First Day of School : The Fields of Ard Skellig, Witcher 3
Falling in Love : Gaelic Storm (Irish Dubstep), Alloscape
Fight Song :Don’t you Forget about me, Love to Love
Prom : Battleborne, Two Steps From Hell
Life : Safety Dance, Men Without Hat’s
Mental Breakdown : Pyrates Beware, Brian Tyler
Driving : Send Me On My Way, Rusted Root
Flashback : Awake in A Dream, Adrian Von Ziegler
Getting Back Together : Ride to Victory, Two Steps From Hell
Losing Your Virginity : You Make my Dreams Come True
Wedding : The Orders Unite, Jeremy Soule
Birth of Child : Wondrous Love, Bear McCreay
Final Battle : Aen Seidhe, Witcher 3
Death Scene : Spirit in the Sky, Norman Greenbaum
Funeral Song: Darkness Fall, Inon Zur
End Credits : Kalf and Lagethra Make A Pact, Trevor Morris Einar Selvik
I enjoy Orchestral Music.
