Fast as lighting, sharp as a sword
I submitted "Consideration" to Equestria Daily, and (big surprise, he said ironically), they turned it down. But whereas my other submissions had vague reasons for refusal, this time I was given a bulleted list of flaws. It was pretty harsh. 
But one detail that stood out was that Twilight was a hypocrite in the story. I had forgotten about several instances when Twilight forced Fluttershy to do things she was uncomfortable with, and even though the circumstances of each of Twilight's cases went beyond simple stuff that Dash threw a fit over because Fluttershy was unwilling or refused, I decided to go back over the story and address it anyway.
“Watching a migration of multiple creatures, for recreation, is far different that confronting a single, angry, carnivorous beast that’s inches away from devouring your friends,” Twilight recounted, a bit of a deadpan snark in her tone. “She did what she had to in order to save us, and we don't require saving from hordes of migrating dragons. And if I recall,” she added, “you were the only one of us giving her a hard time about her reluctance to speak to the sleeping dragon the entire way there.”
Another indignant scoff, and Dash retorted angrily, “Well, I didn’t even force her! You did!”
“And without having to pry her off the door frame, too.”
"Well, you do things like that, too! Even you gotta admit, Twilight, Fluttershy can be a real fraidy-cat sometimes! We have to force her!"
"No, we don't. We didn't have to then, and you don't have to now."
"Well, you were still just as bad—"
"My actions are not being analyzed here, Rainbow Dash," Twilight replied, the sternness in her voice solidifying. "Yours are. I admit I've done wrong to Fluttershy in the past. You on the other hoof, keep passing blame to Fluttershy, Spitfire, and me, as well as diverting the issue, both to avoid taking responsibility. I freely admit that I could have handled situations with Fluttershy better, but you refuse to. I've grown since then. Can you say the same?"
After Twilight's harsh words, Dash's eyes were wide, but she once again fell silent for a moment.
Twilight sighed wearily as her voice softened. “Rainbow Dash, I’ve seen enough of your interactions with Fluttershy to know that you have a problem taking her feelings into consideration,” she told her blue friend. “You’ve asked so much of Fluttershy, and without, I’m sure, even imagining how she might feel.”
I hope that covers the issue well enough. I've also been told that Twilight is too smug in this fic, but that I won't change; Dash has a hard head, and even her most apologetic fans will attest to that. She needs that kind of biting tone to wake her up and teach her the lesson she needs, especially in this case.
In any case, I hope this is enough. And I hope you all enjoy it because of (or in spite of) the additions.

But hey, Equestria Daily's really popular and REEEEAAAALLY probably hard to get a story into. :3
Maybe next time? You're such a good writer one day they won't be able to turn you down.
Why the hell would post a fic like that on Rainbow Dash day?

Twilight was so smug and hypocritical that I wanted to punch her in the muzzleTwilight was pretty damn smug about the whole thing. Just tone it down on smugness even if it boils your undying hatred and I'm pretty sure EqD would accept the story easily.Well keep trying, I'm sure you'll make it sooner or later.
I actually didn't notice that either. Apparently haven't been "in" the show for some time
, because no instances of such came to mind.
That said, good change - it's deeper to the characters. Good go!
I have yet to read it sadly, but once I get the chance I will. I'm sure it will be great though. I've enjoyed everything of yours that I've read, so I'm positive that nay additions you ad to it will only add to the experience of it.

3727586 I tried to put Dash's actions in a bad light rather than the character herself. Evidenced by her obvious contrition and subsequent breakdown at Fluttershy's place at the end. I wasn't trying to make her a villain. Just misguided and in need of a fairly harsh, but fair lesson.
