Sensation Update Later Tonight · 10:10pm Jan 16th, 2016

Hi, all!

Minor delay with Sensation, and I'm going go be at the Oath of the Gatewatch prerelease for the next several hours. I plan on posting the chapter later tonight. Thanks for your patience!

I went too. I got KOZILEK in my prize packs.

NICE!!! We opened up a sick pool for a Mardu Ally deck (which my friend piloted) and a 5-color (kind of - didn't play white) control Eldrazi deck. The mana lined up nicely, and my friend's Drana did a lot of work. :ajsmug:

A new magic set? I haven't played that game since the local game store, that hosted the friday night magics, had to close, about a year or so ago. I still have all the cards, though none too recent. I generally had a lot of fun trying to build unusual decks that none else played. Most memorable amongst which a white infect deck with enchanments, way back at around 2012/2013 I think, and an unblockable black and blue deck that consisted of nothing but commons and uncommons around the time of innistradt. Come to think of it I think the white infect deck also didn't have any rare cards in it initially. I guess trying to go against the habit of masses of rares and mythics was kind of my thing back then, as well as trying to figure out ways to circumvent them altogether. It was quite rewarding to have strange deck concepts that shouldn't have a chance actually win a game or two.

I still feel a little bad over one game where my first play was a 1/1 unblockable tormented soul and the next three turns I kept attaching +3/+1 dark favor enchantments to it. It was the shortest game I ever played, and I fear my friend couldn't really appreciate the random happenstance of having all four versions of that enchantment in my starting hand ^^;

I haven't taken part in a lot of prereleases and generally didn't get very far with them, usually ending somewhere in the middle, with a single exception. I placed second one instance, in the good old days when I think there were only 12 or so people attending at the local game shop. It was the set with Akroma's memorial, M13 it seems, a 7 mana artifact that gives your creatures most of the base keywords. I remember because that card got me to victory, and in the won boosters I got a second one, to my friends' dismay. The last pre-release I took part in must have been one of the Theros sets, which I played in Dublin ^^

Writing this here it feels as though I've written about all this before though, a long time ago.

It sounds like both you and Thrawn had a good time though, as well as some decent cards. ^^

I could be all dramatic and complain about how awful the wait for the new chapter of sensation was, needing my fix of Soarburn fluffs, but I do recall myself writing that given the very happy moments of recent chapters, I didn't quite know if I wanted to read more... Not that that stops me of course. Besides, with time differences I now get to wake up to finding a new chapter of sensation in my mailbox, not quite being aware of the small delay, and then have a reason to stay in bed longer as it simple cannot go unread, the mere concept is unthinkable.

Any wait though has proven to be more than worth it once again. Once more we were treated to a lot of adorable moments, some more world building as well as a lot of "CONTINUITY" (I'm missing a fireworks emoticon, or a hippogryph for that matter) to both the very start of the story as well as ongoing story arcs. There's always a bitter sweet nature to memories such as the ones described here, a beauty to descriptions of happiness, but a sadness to realize its fleeting nature. Still, you often do seem to be able to take the edge off with a well placed joke joke ^^

But all the small subtle hints indicating everything's going to fall apart in the end are ever present, despite how well everything's going now, or in the past rather. Not even just limited to the present retelling of the story. Still, cute as the initial fear was, Brae is adapting quite a bit faster than I had expected and seems ever motivated to making things work. And we have Spitfire and Firestreak to look forward to again, albeit in likely rather unfortunate circumstance, if the last line has anything to say about that.
