I've polished up Fuchsia and Lavender are (Not) Dead. Aside from grammatical corrections and spelling errors, some dialogue has been altered or expanded to allude to upcoming prequel installments, as well as to properly reflect Equestria Girls canon. To clarify canon, I mean printed material will either be referenced in broad strokes (Anon-A-Miss incident) or re-imagined/adapted with the

So a hurricane plows into bar...

Or at least she's predicted to do so over the next few days. Knowing how hurricanes have passed through the Carolinas in recent years, we're expecting Florence to weaken significantly once she makes landfall, and all we'll get is just several days of rain and some wind. However confidence does not negate preparedness -- contingencies are in place in the event Florence does pack a bigger punch

    Moment of Reflection

"I've heard one side called fascist and cruel, the other called fairy tales for snowflakes. Neither is true. The middle ground has gone missing."

Sorta New Plan Follow-Up · 11:49pm Jan 10th, 2016

Okay. As planned in the other blog entry, I've taken time over the last week to review and rethink a few writing projects on the table. Which, in all honesty, helped a hell of a lot, breaking away from writing entirely and just living life (and working my rump off :rainbowlaugh:).

The one-shots will continue on as planned. As a matter of fact, I found one hiding deep in my GDocs from ages ago, dusty and forgotten, and it's more or less ready for posting. Hey, I've posted something on this site every January since joining up, so gotta keep that habit going :rainbowlaugh: but in all honesty, don't expect much other than small doses of weird and dark. Anyway, after that hopefully I can get into a monthly or bi-monthly schedule for one-shots. If not (and probably for the better), I'll alternate between them and chapters of Tales of the Equestria Girls. We'll see.

The process for any Winningverse projects will be gone about differently. Rather than attempt at a novella or epic-length story--at least for the foreseeable future--they will be done as shorts. As much as I want to take a gander at a lengthy piece with a familial conspiracy, I'm not sure if I will have the time or motivation for that sort of thing as previous endeavors can vouch for. For now, the best course of action is to take it slow and improve upon my flaws, namely inconsistent characterization and tense usage.

With that said, Princess will go on as planned, but the first chapter will undergo a few edits, primarily grammatical and spelling fixes overlooked in the peer review process. One notable change will be the flashback. Like I said, I wanted to try something lengthy, but that ain't happening for a while. So rather than tie myself down with numerous flashes of memory that will limit creatvity, the flashback will focus on a single, relevant memory: Flash's encounter with Shephard and Cloud at West Hoof. Do that, and flexibility in world/character-building is ensured. So it's nothing substantial, considering what's already been established with Flash and Lightning thus far.

So peers, expect an update and simplified overview doc in your inbox soon.

Oh, and spoilers: Captain Domino is the father.

So, that's pretty much it. Thanks for your patience and the helpful messages. Hopefully this all works out. Cheers.

Sometimes it's best to go with shorter stories, especially when you're trying to build yourself up. Plus writing some shorter stories can help build up your confidence and experience.

Looking forward to your work in the future.
