I've polished up Fuchsia and Lavender are (Not) Dead. Aside from grammatical corrections and spelling errors, some dialogue has been altered or expanded to allude to upcoming prequel installments, as well as to properly reflect Equestria Girls canon. To clarify canon, I mean printed material will either be referenced in broad strokes (Anon-A-Miss incident) or re-imagined/adapted with the

So a hurricane plows into bar...

Or at least she's predicted to do so over the next few days. Knowing how hurricanes have passed through the Carolinas in recent years, we're expecting Florence to weaken significantly once she makes landfall, and all we'll get is just several days of rain and some wind. However confidence does not negate preparedness -- contingencies are in place in the event Florence does pack a bigger punch

    Moment of Reflection

"I've heard one side called fascist and cruel, the other called fairy tales for snowflakes. Neither is true. The middle ground has gone missing."

New Year, Sorta New Plan · 5:38pm Jan 3rd, 2016

Well, 2015 has come and gone, and in its place is another year. And with a new year comes a new game plan for being a better person, which for me boils down to faith, health, and time management. The latter I'm very disappointed with for last year, and hopefully that can be changed. I love to write stories, but I either get caught up on another TV tropes tangent or stumbling into the wackier realms of the internet. Or even worse, change things that end up being changed back.

So in order to rectify that, I'm taking a week off from writing to re-evaluate what projects I have on the table, see what final changes will be made to certain stories, then move on to take a page from JaketheGinger's book and set up what days will be dedicated to which projects. Before Christmas hit, there are a few in the works.

First and foremost is finishing up In the Service of the Princess. I planned to have it completed before Christmas, but working in retail in that time of year, plus studies, didn't exactly offer much in the way of free time. Now that the holidays are winding down and I'm taking a semester off, I will have it hopefully done soon. The same goes to the interlude for The Life and Times of a Winning Agent. Webby, I'm sorry it's taken so long and I haven't done much to help push the story forward. Forgive me.

Next, a quintet of one-shots. A Berry Hearth's Warming Eve will feature a certain drunkard and timekeeper during, surprise, Hearth's Warming Eve. Get Spooked is set during Nightmare Night and focuses on First Base, Apple Bloom, and others. An idea brought back from the year 2014, some kinky Blossomlane after a comic convention. Then, Lemon Zest and Vinyl Scratch in a The World Ends With You crossover titled It's a Wonderful World. Last, but not least, Sunset Gets a Pet, back on track.

This is my main project for the year, and hopefully one that all of y'all will enjoy. Tales of the Equestria Girls, a series of slice of life shorts featuring characters introduced in the EQG films, which amounts to nearly twenty. You can expect shenanigans like Sandalwood cooking for Cranky Heisenberg, Lavender Lace's search for her Valentine's Day admirer, and Sour Sweet dealing with her bipolar disorder.

Why so much when you write so little, some might be thinking. I've had a few of these on the back burner for some time, all of them mostly finished sans several resolving paragraphs and streamlining. So some may show up on your metaphorical doorstep sooner than you think. But to be clear, the goal is all of these will be done sometime this year. Not tomorrow, not next week, not next month, sometime this year. If I give a specific due date, crashing and burning follows, so... yeah, that's the plan.

In the meantime, enjoy the post-New Year's aches and pains :rainbowlaugh:

I don't think you realize how little I've done for it, and that's my story! Seriously, you're the only reason I got anything done with it in the first place, so thank you.

Seriously, thank you.

One of the basic pieces of advice I can give you is such: just write.

At least for myself, I set aside a consistent period of time to write each day and get cracking during time. Once you're done with the whole planning out of a story, there comes a time to just write and get on with it, without worrying too much about exactly what you're writing. Dealing with the specifics of what you've written is what the editing process is for. Writing is a lot about momentum, and get out there and crack out some words.

I... didn't realize I did so much. Geez, I need to stop thinking like I'm a disappointment.

I heard of something like that, called the Shitty First Draft. Never put much thought into it, but it's worth a try.

Thanks, guys.
