Hats Off to 2015 - A Look Forward! (Plans for "The Reality I Choose," "The Iron Horse," and more!) · 8:32am Jan 5th, 2016
So, my last two blog posts were about the year in review. This last one will be about some plans for the future! Let's start with one I know a lot of you want to know about:
I've discussed this with a few folks and in the FAQ blog post about the story, I mentioned it in passing, but it might be a good time to say it more formally.
Yes, there will be more of the "Choose-verse." 
Realizing lots of folks already have a "Sunset-verse," someone suggested just calling my story's continuity that. So, okay, "Choose-verse" it is.
But I digress. So, what exactly am I planning? A sequel? HAHAHAHAno. 
Instead, I'd like to write more about how Sunset took Twi's place and some of the background events mentioned in the story as well as a few other things. Basically, major events and how they played out differently. For instance:
-The confrontation with Nightmare Moon and the consequences of not saving Luna.
-The Grand Galloping Gala
-What exactly happened to Pinkie (a sort of reverse "Pinkie Pride," if you will)
-A bit more about the Doctor and Derpy's relationship
-Discord
-King Sombra and how he and Celestia ended up together
Now, the thing about all this is that I'd like to consider it a side project. There is no deadline and there is no release schedule. I could decide to churn these chapters out over a couple of months or it could take much longer than that. I apologize, but I just have a lot of other stories that I'd like to tell first. This is a 'verse I like, but I don't want it to be the one big thing that dominates everything I do, even if the original story is and remains my most popular work. I hope that's satisfactory, but I understand if that doesn't make everyone happy.
As I've said before, it's a nice reality to visit, but I, like Twilight, wouldn't want to live there.
My main project is back on an update schedule and things are progressing nicely. But a lot of folks might be wondering a few things about it, so let me answer a few common questions and inquiries.
How much more of the story is left?
A pretty decent amount. I'd say there's still a third of the story left, more or less.
Like what?
Well, Applejack's arc for one. The answer to who built Turing Test and what for and what they want for another.
So... shipping chapter?
After a lot of consideration... yes, there will be a chapter about romance.
Will Maud Pie be in it?
Mmaaayyybe. 
Equestria Girls crossover?
Folks seem to want it, so I'll put that as tentatively yes. I don't want to do it if there's not much to be gained by it, but I have a few ideas about how it could work out.
There are a few other things I'd like to do with "The Iron Horse." Nothing has been finalized, but some ideas of things I'd like to do include:
-A tumblr blog/webcomic called "Ask Turing Test." Mr. Green and I have discussed it, so it's possible.
-A radio play/audio drama. This is something I would absolutely love to see happen. Some great audio dramas are out there, including the well-known "Bride of Discord/Daughter of Discord" series by Disney Fanatic and the "Anthropology" radio play that was produced by Emogak's NightFalls Studios. But I think I'd have to do a lot of organizing and either learn how to edit better or find someone who knows what the hell they're doing. Luckily, Green and I both know a few people, so it might not be as farfetched as it sounds.
-Some SFM stuff. Of course, that would mean designing a model for Turing Test. I doubt a full movie of the story could be done, but maybe a few shorts or a music video could be possible. Again, I have a lot to learn before I can do much of anything.
Oh, and there's one more special project I've been working on. I can't say much right now, but I think it'll be great fun. I've left a few hints here and there about it already, but that's all I can say for the time being...
Other Plans
Beyond these two stories, there are some other projects I'd like to get to this year.
1. Bon Bon's Time with the RMCA/Grace and Glory's Backstory
I know not everyone is fond of these two, but I actually have a lot of fun writing these two unambiguously evil characters. I'd also like to show a little bit more of Grace and Bon Bon's friendship when the latter was working undercover and eventually how Bon Bon met Lyra.
2. Gadget's Backstory
I'd really like to go into detail about how Gadget went from a nerdy, unknown filly to being one of the most trusted assistants/engineers for one of the most powerful beings in Equestria. Gadget is tons of fun to write, so a little backstory to explain how she invented her arms and met Vanderbull could be a good story too.
3. Other Stuff
Just other things. I have a couple half-formed stories floating around inside my noggin and I plan to participate more often in the writing group I'm a part of. (Hazardous Writing Materials, for the record.) After all, "The Reality I Choose" came out on a whim and it ended up being a hit, so I think I'll trust my instincts if they tell me there's a story that needs to be told.

Hm. Not sure how to feel about that, but I expect that you could pull it off.

I can't wait for more of "The Iron Horse" (and other stories of TuringVerse!) and ChooseVerse!
I really would like to see Pinkie and Maud's parents reaction to Turing if you go with the shipping chapter
(Probably after a first moment of surprise, they would only shrug).
If it don't work in the main story (but I hope it does!), you could always put the EqGVerse in an alternate spinoff...
