    Goodbye Fimfiction

In about 24-48 hours, I will be closing this tab and never opening it again. After six years I'm finally leaving and it's a very... bittersweet goodbye.

    Who To Get Art Of

This actually isn't about what artist to do since my normal cover artist can't work due to the virus, but what of my characters to do art of. As for who the artist is, a reminder is that they are Lugaroo on Deviant Art, and no I can't link them, and they've done covers for me in the past like

    I Have Moved!

I'm back in Colorado! Everyone around me kind of realized that I really needed a change of scenery. I hadn't had my own private space for three years at this point and that's not exactly a good thing for a writer with mental issues. Now that I'm on disability, that's actually something that can possibly change. Needed to go somewhere quieter, smaller, cheaper for that though. So a change in

Jumbled Thoughts: Proprietary Software and "X thing has this, why not others?" with Steam

So, something I hear a lot when people talk about different digital store fronts is that they're confused why they don't all have everything that Steam does. Shouldn't we all have learned lessons from Steam? Well... this is where it being Proprietary software comes into play.

Conventions/Panels · 7:29am Jan 2nd, 2016

So, with the new year comes new opportunities and chances. This also means, new conventions. Now, I'm going to state this now, unless I do a fundraiser or something so as to get the cash, the likely hood of me going to a convention is VERY low, but I thought I might as well speculate, see if you guys would want to see me, and which conventions you would like me to go to.

And this section would have been me speculating, but Equestria Daily, I only go for the convention list, is empty for this year still, so I'll briefly mention Everfree and Bronycon. I've been to Everfree and had a good time, but I didn't actually find myself in much writing stuff there, which was a big reason I chose it. As for Bronycon, it would be the cheaper of the two options, as I have two separate people offering me at least a cheaper hotel room, but the size of the convention intimidates me a good bit, as I'm not great with super crowds. As well, both conventions would probably pass me up for other, more focused or known, authors as far as a panel goes.

Now, about the idea of me doing a panel. Mainly, I think it could be fun, and it would kind of be about Twaith (hence why this blog is linked to the story). What the panel would actually be about though is Comment Driven fics, and some of the things to focus on, some of the pitfalls, and the fine line between listening to comments and telling the story. It would also be about analyzing the two main types in my opinion, Rifle and shotgun. Rifle is where you vote at the end of each chapter, and is akin to CYOA's, where Shotgun is much more like Twaith, as it has stuff that could be from anywhere. Another way to look at Shotgun style is Ask Tumblrs.

But yeah, I want to know where you all may be going, if you think I should look at trying to be a panelist about this, things like that. I also may reblog in the morning, just so more people are awake.

I actually had fun at Everfree last year, and I suspect that unless something surprises me, I'll go again this year. Remember, if you make it out for that, (personal) tradition dictates that I buy you lunch on that Saturday.

Unless there's more than one Everfree. That might introduce complications.

3658328 XD I'm talking about Northwest, which is the only one I can think of at the moment.

Yep, that's the one. Remember, if you make it, I buy you lunch on that Saturday, but only because you come in from out-of-town.

It sounds like, at least.

3659137 I live in Alaska! Also, I thought I would let you know that my mind seems to be improving immensely! Just needed an okay day at work.

I am so glad to hear that.

Applejack on the outside.

Pinkie Pie on the inside.

As for Bronycon, it would be the cheaper of the two options, as I have two separate people offering me at least a cheaper hotel room,

I'll toss my hat into the ring, and tentatively offer you a room (or at least a couch or sleeping bag) at my place! No queen size beds anything, but you can't beat the price :rainbowwild:
Also for reference I live about 10-15 minutes from the convention center via a free bus. 25-30 minute walk.

Another downside is not as much space/amenities of the hotel, and I'd probably take off the Friday of the con, up until the Monday after. So that 4-day window is all I have before I have to get back to work, meaning you'd be similarly restricted by that time frame.

but the size of the convention intimidates me a good bit, as I'm not great with super crowds.

They have these little 'con cards you put on your badge. Green, yellow, and red. Green is "feel free to talk to me". red is "leave me alone", and yellow is "only talk to me if you know me" kinda thing. So you can avoid the size being too overwhelming for the most part. Otherwise you can take a step out, or find an uncrowded area. Bronycon doesn't eat up the entire building like Otakon does, so it's got wiggle room.

Also, not sure about panels or not, but if you wanted to just come to have a good time with no responsibilities, that's always fun. :)
I went to Bronycon for my first time last year, and it was a blast. Though I mostly hung around artists/dealers and chatted them up for 90% of the con XD (I missed the fimfiction meet up because I didn't find out where they were until afterwards)

3676492 You were one of the two dude :p
