So occasionally I do get reader submissions for OOCSST, and I do appreciate that.
But some of my followers don't quite "get" what OOCSST is. I've received a few submissions that don't quite fit the spirit of OOCSST.
So below, I'm going to offer a little guide to what counts as OOCSST-worthy material.
Lesson #1: Out of Context Is Supposed To Be Funny
The whole point of OOCSST is for the image itself to be funny, goofy, or random with absolutely no context. To illustrate this, I'll use a Detective Conan screencap I discarded from the OOCSST pile in a rare moment of good taste:
See this? This is weird. There's no context. I personally found it hilarious. I'm sure others will. The whole point of OOCSST is for the image to be just plain random, weird, or silly. It's something everyone can make up their own caption for.
Lesson #2: Captions Don't Cut It
I've had someone send me a screenshot similar to this in content:
Where the only funny part of the image is the subtitle.
Nope! That's not how it works. The image itself has to be the funny part. Subtitles are inherently context, and thus kind of defeat the purpose.
Lesson #3: Pointless Screencap is Pointless
No.
If there's nothing inherently funny, random, goofy, or interesting about the pic, then it doesn't suit the purpose of OOCSST.
Please keep these three simple guidelines in mind when you're sending me something to use for OOCSST. 
EDIT 1/10/2016: One last thing: Ultimately, I reserve the right to decide what is and isn't used for OOCSST, and it is very much a judgment call. If I don't personally "get" a screenshot, I won't use it. That isn't intended as a slight against the user who submitted it, and I really would prefer people not get upset with me for not using a screenshot they personally found amusing. Humor is very subjective, and the plain and simple truth is, it IS my blog, and if I don't see the humor in something, chances are I'm not going to use it.
