    New Computer

Hey everyone just got my new computer this Friday so I can get back to writing even if I have to start the chapter over by scratch. I will try and have it done in time for Christmas.

    Dead Computer

So it's looking more and more like my blue screen of death is a hardware issue. My friends going to try a few more things but he thinks I'm going to ether have to but a new motherboard or a new computer.

So if I'm going to spend a few hundred bucks I might as well get a new computer. So does anyone know where I can get a laptop for under 500 that can at least run world of watercraft?

    BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

So my computer kicked the big one on me. My friends looking it over this weekend but it looks like he's going to have to whip it and install a new operating system. He is going to try and save the half of a chapter I had done. If not I'm going to try and figure out how to access google docs on my kindle.

Da Next One Part IV · 11:49pm Aug 17th, 2012

Alright, I'm back and ready to do some writing. So with the newest chapter of "A Ghost Story" I saw we had over 1,000 favorites (I have no clue how that happened). So onto my next question for my story after "A Ghost Story".

Should the main character be a Brony, or shall he be completely unaware of the show. The second option would take the story down a different path as he wouldn't know about anything in Equestria. Let me know what you think with a comment.

Not know, since that adds more mystery and plot devices.

Non brony. Found it works pretty well and got some positive comments about that in my story.

I agree with Frenchie.

...And not just because of the name.

I'd rather him be unaware of the show.

Keep going as youintended it seems to be panning out into a really good story.:pinkiehappy:

Not a brony, let his findings about the ponies be legit and not "tainted" by our beloved show.
:coolphoto:

Non-brony, since I like the more mysterious elements it would raise.

Theres good and bad points to each.
A brony know whats going on and who ponies are so he wont be mean or rude (hopefully) but the ponies will be like WTF? :rainbowhuh:
A non-brony with no knowledge of Equestria is sort of a wild card. He could be mean and not give a sh:yay:t about anypony or he could be nice and likes to meet them all!
Either way has good points and bad, but its up to the author to make his/her decisions.
...
AKA your choice bro I got nothin

I think he should not be a brony, but at least know OF the show.

Non-brony, oblivious to Equestria's existence and workings.

I thought it was already implied that he was a brony since he asked to be sent to Equestria at the beginning of the story.

293939 This is for my next story, not for "A Ghost Story"

293946 Oh! My apologies. Reading every word and then registering it with my brain helps to build understanding. I always go with brony because then you don't have to explain all the details that everyone reading who has watched the show already knows. Mystery is nice but it's not mysterious if we all know what they're talking about:pinkiesmile: If you add to it though, world build, that can be extremely satisfying and some of the best stories here do just that. Depends what your thinking of doing.

We're talking about his NEXT story, mate.

Like Sacred Silence said, a "Brony in Equestria" story has good and bad points. Typically, he knows what to do and where to go to get help/hug Fluttershy. However, the fact that he knows all of them incredibly well yet has never met them can be shocking and creepy the first occurrence, which can add to or detract from the plot. And, in bad stories, it typically leads to an incredibly premature romance with the protag and his waifu pony.

But I'd go with the route of "Isn't a brony but knows of the fandom's existence/has seen images on the Internet" route. I sometimes tend to find it a bit bland when he ends up just being "random guy in Equestria", and having him at least be aware of the show can lead to more WHY from the protag, as well as more (hopefully) level-headedness, so he's neither "OMG PONI PONI FUN DANCE YAY" nor "Why the fuck am I here I want to kill these ponies teen angst". Assuming it isn't a "Hater in Equestria", he has an interesting perspective to go on, and has a chance to more scientifically figure out why he's here so he can figure out the relation between Earth and Equestria.

And he also realizes that it's entirely possible that his actions are broadcast through the Hub to little girls and grown men everywhere. Whoa, dude. That's creepy.

293962 Ya I saw that. Dyson no read so good.

Dude, I don't think anybody else has ever covered a brony getting to Equestria and participating in the episodes actually being broadcast. That would be hilarious. I think it has potential.:pinkiehappy:

non-brony.
but prone to unnatural things? :trollestia:

TMH

Non-brony,more WFT moments and less fanboy-ism.
But do whatever you think is best.

Carry On

I think the latter is better. Even if the readers already know about Equestria it's just more fulfilling to observe how the main character reacts to the things around him. It also helps us to get to know them better and make it easier to put ourselves in their position.

Ya-hah! Story update! I wub you! :rainbowlaugh:

As for the bro/non-bro thing, make him not a member of our glorious fandom. I'd love to see how a "normal" guy deals with being permanently stuck with a bunch of cute ponies. (Either NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO or Huh. Not bad...)

Unaware is always better.

Not knowing is the path to follow young grasshopper:twilightsmile:

I tend to prefer characters to have no prior knowledge of the show. Makes the wonder of discovery for the character more fun( aka WTF is this? WTH is that? Why did someone inject butterflies and sugar into my eyes!)

he shouild be a military commander and try to take over equestria but fails sorta.....
