Okay... so... last time I did one of these, I said I was nearly done with the chapter and just needed to edit it. Now, that's no longer the case.
To get straight to the point, I'm going to be rewriting the chapter.
Honestly, I kind of expected this from the outset, but it's still going to slow things down considerably. This chapter was a nightmare to work on, and I wasn't all the happy with the result even after I finally stopped. One of my editors hit the nail head pretty well with regards to why as well: this chapter adds nothing to the overall story and spends too long on one unfunny joke. Hopefully, once I put some actual direction in this chapter, it won't be nearly as painful to write.
I'm so sorry about all of this.
Dude don't be sorry. you gotta do what you think is best, and sometimes even if that means throwing out 4000 something words, despite the damnit you gotta do it.
As one of the lucky people who got chance to read that version, I really liked it. If that's the "bad" version, I know the "good" version will blow me away.

Agreed. While I didn't see directly how it would be advancing the storyline, it was still a good read. We live and learn so I'm confident the finalized chapter is going to be awesome.
I'm sure it will be worth the wait, and I appreciate you wanting to bring us the best you can.
