Wow! I didn't expect Random to be nearly as well received as it was. Thanks so much, everyone! I'm glad it resonated with people to the degree it did.
Anyway, let's address the questions a lot of you have already asked... Why is the story marked as complete? Does this mean there won't be a sequel?
Let's address the second question first. Short answer: maybe.
Long answer... well, I'm not sure. See, that goes back to the first question, as to why the story is marked as complete. And that's because, well, it is. The story Random is telling is completely over. It's not about Change and Pinkie. It's about Change and Cloudy/Fortune, their thoughts on how Pinkie should be raised, and how that affects their mother/daughter relationship. And not only is that story is over, but when I was writing it, I had no plans whatsoever for a followup. So I can definitely say that I won't be adding any more to Random itself (though I suppose I might edit out a few typos I missed that readers caught, but that's about it). Random is and always will be complete.
That being said, there is definitely the potential for additional stories with the same characters. Absolutely so. And I've gotten a few ideas for how to go about that. Nothing concrete yet, just a bunch of ideas for individual scenes, but the idea factory has definitely been in full production the past few days. So while I can't promise there will be a sequel, It's not out of the question by any stretch of the imagination.
If one does happen, however, it likely won't be for a while. I'd want to make sure it was as good as it could be, and I have a few other things I want to get to first. Not to mention I semi-regularly update my MLP CCG blog Cloudchaser and Flitter Explain, which features Cloudchaser and Flitter discussing their favourite pastime while simultaneously teaching new players various aspects about the game. Check it out if you're interested in the game! Heck, you might even like it even if you're not interested in the card game (I've been told I have a few readers who aren't interested in the game at all!).
But I'll definitely keep a sequel to Random in mind while working on everything else. And as soon as I know for sure that it's going to happen, I'll let you all know.

I truly hope you do decide to add to this universe. "Random" may be complete, but there is a gold mine of possibilities to delve into beyond it. Certainly, Change is going to be teaching Random about her abilities, but I would love to see Change and Discord's interactions...especially when Discord learns that Pinkie is Random.

I really did enjoy the Random story! And I totally agree with your decision to leave it complete. It makes perfect sense! (Don't tell Discord I said that
Oh, going by the cover art, I thought we were going to see draquonis Pinkie at some point? That was the main draw for me.
I want to see more of Random too. At the end, Cloudy/Fortune said that Pinkie should know about heritage and I'd like to see how she reacts to that. Or how her friends react to that. I can imagine Cloudy Quartz, Igneous and possibly Change coming to Ponyville to tell her. Either in private, or with her friends.
Have you heard of Daddy Discord? Screwball is said by the fandom to be Discords' daughter. That would mean Pinkie Pie and Screwball are related. That would be a great idea to use in a possible sequel.
Also if there is a sequel, keep in mind the following:
1) The Timeline. Obviously the story Random is set after Return of Harmony but is the sequel before or after Keep Calm and Flutter On
2) How would the Mane Six react to Pinkies' new identity and even more Pinkies sisters. That could invite a lot of Drama in the story.
3) Humour. With Pinkie most probably being the main focus and has Dracoques powers this could lead to alot of hilarity and references to other media that can give a story a lot of rereadable value to it. Wonder is Discords somehow gets released early due to the ensuring chaos?
4) The culture. What I loved about Random as a story was the subtle hints of there being a culture for Discords' race. That to me was the second strongest point in the story. There needs to be more of that in the sequel.
4) Don't forget this is your decision. Do this sequel out of passion of writing and not from pressure by your followers.
