I do kinda wish the anime dub was still using the Gera Gera Po song for its opening theme instead of the game's theme, though. Ah well.

I haven't gotten any Youkai out of the Crank-A-Kai yet, but I did get a Gold Idol out of it (I think that's where the Gold Idol came from, anyway), so this early in the game I have a crapton of cash.

Katie's Summer Diary #3

I thought everything that happened to me yesterday was some kind of crazy dream, but when I woke up, Whisper was floating there by my bed, watching me sleep! Kyaaaa!

So I guess I'm stuck with all this Youkai weirdness. Whatevs! I'm gonna go meet up with Nate at the park today!

An office lady I ran into in town said "I don't have to go to work today, so I'm wide open!" Some people need to think about things before they say them...

When I got to the park, Nate seemed really bummed. He says he got in a fight with a friend after he just blurted out a bunch of stuff he didn't mean to say. He headed for the riverbank to make up with his friend. Whisper thinks a Youkai is responsible, so I decided to follow Nate.

On the way, I helped a girl from my class who was being inspirited by Hungramps, and I also helped an idol who had a couple of creepy fanboys chasing her around by using Dimmy's magic to make her unnoticeable.

I really hope I don't get sidetracked like this when my friends need me all the time...

So anyway, I get to the riverbank, and there's this Youkai named Tattletell who looks like a little old lady! Before I know what's going on, she inspirits me and makes me blurt out how annoying Whisper is and how much I just wanna go home and play video games!

Tattletell decides she likes me, and gives me her Youkai Medal without a fight or anything! How weird...and kinda creepy...

Anyway, with Tattletell's help, Nate patches things up with Casey, and a friendship is saved. Yay!

But this little caper is leading to something that feels like it's gonna be a major pain in the butt...Whisper and Tattletell are talking about some businessman who's been going around town muttering about 'breaking seals', and that it made Tattletell suddenly get a big energy boost and want to make trouble. But it's getting late, and I have to get home...

Katie's Summer Diary #3, continued

Good morning, diary! Even though the weather is nasty today, Whisper insists I go looking for this business dude that Tattletell tattled about. Bad news: I have to run around in the pouring rain. Good news: I get to wear my really cute pink raincoat!

So I find that business dude by the post office, and he tries to run me off. I summon Tattletell to get him to spill his busy beans, and...

What the what?! This dude's a Youkai!

His name is Tengloom, and he tries to silence me forever, but with the help of my Youkai friends, we put him down for the count! Just before poofing away, he makes a bad Saturday morning cartoon villain speech about how I'm too late, and his allies are already heading to two other places and I can't stop them from breaking all four seals...yeah yeah. Whaaaaaaatevs. Still, it sounds like it'll be a pretty big deal if these seal thingies pop, so I guess I'd better check it out!

We head to the Community Center, where there's this big swirling mass of icky Youkai energy...it must be the Seal! Whisper sets out to fix it, but this big icky block of something calling itself Mochismo shows up and attacks! Another Youkai that thinks he's so tough, yet gets pwned by a two-tailed cat and a little old woman...sigh...

Mochismo: "My beans!"

Yikes.

We headed to the bank to fix the other seal, and Peckpocket showed up to stop us. Hah! As if! He was a bigger pushover than the others!

There's still one seal left, and the last one is over at...the school! I have to go to school on a rainy summer day? Boo!

We raced to the school to find and fix the final seal. But just as Whisper was about to go to work, a really BIG Youkai, Slimamander, showed up! This thing is super gross! Slimamander, which Whisper called a "Boss Youkai", attacked...and it was really, really tough! I wasn't sure my Youkai friends could win, but somehow, we managed to defeat it.

Then, just as it looked like it was over, Slimamander woke up and tried to kill me! Wah! Scary! But then this...this Youkai guy showed up and did...SOMETHING. And Slimamander went bye-bye! Then so did the guy that saved us. Who was that Youkai...?

Anyway, saved Nate's friendship, made a new Youkai friend, and stopped some big bad nasty Youkai from having their way with the town...not a bad way to spend a rainy summer day.

I just hope I don't catch a cold from all this running around in the rain...
