The re-write is (finally) finished · 2:36am Nov 8th, 2015
When I look down my list of past blogs, I see only a litany of excuses and empty promises. How many times have I set deadlines on myself for finishing this story? Too many times. So lately I've decided to take a page from the book of the Ents, and only say anything when I have something to say. Thus the radio silence for the last little while.
But today I have good news. Over the past few months I've been picking through the process of this re-write, chapter by chapter. And today, it is finished. My only modifications to the story from here on out will be to add new chapters, which I will be commencing work on immediately.
It is rather unfortunate that fimfiction doesn't send notifications when chapters are replaced, so to anyone watching it wouldn't look like anything had been happening for the past few months. So here's a list of what I've done:
- Chapters 5 and 6 have had their orders switched, and Chapter 6 (re-named to "Water") has been largely re-written.
- Chapter 7 has been entirely re-written, and its name has been changed to "Air".
- Chapter 8 has gone through a major edit, and while still primarily the same has had sections re-written.
- Chapter 10 has been entirely re-written, and its name has been changed to "Terraria"
- Chapter 12 has been largely re-written, and its name has been changed to "The Sun and the Moon"
- Chapter 13 has had sections re-written.
- I've also performed a copy-edit pass on the entire story, fixing stylistic inconsistencies, and replacing a few epigraphs that I wasn't satisfied with.
So if there is anyone out there that still cares, it is a different story now, or at least not the same one that you last read. As I said above, I will be promptly moving into new territory, as the upcoming chapters contain content that I'm really excited to write. This story still has a lot of secrets left to reveal, and we are entering into the final "movement" of the plot. Soon enough, I'll have something new for you.

I haven't been able to find it in the settings, so if I'm following you but not tracking the story, will I get notifications for new chapters?
