pony.exe: The Outline · 4:56am Oct 26th, 2015
So,
Since forever now I've had the whole of pony.exe imagined in my head. I knew where I wanted to start, and a short time after that I figured out where I wanted to end it. But the outline of the experience hasn't gone anywhere beyond what was in my head. I would forget things, I would remember things, and I wouldn't put a lick of effort into actually recording anything. Chapters were done off of my gut, my instinct, on what felt right.
So tonight I took about an hour to actually type out an outline for the rest of the story, starting out at the latest chapter, chapter 10, named "LiveChat.exe", from start to finish and everything in-between. It's pretty good so far, and I'm satisfied with how everything ended up. Once or twice I had to consider situation which I wanted to include but ended up throwing them out because I didn't want the story to become too long. I want to finish this in at least one or two years. The extra stuff would have been interesting and would have been some good character development for David, but would take too long and would stray off the defined path I had set him and Twilight.
From what I can tell, I'm actually 1/3 done with the story. However, that doesn't mean much, because chapter length is theoretical and subject to change. If I'm in the middle of writing a chapter and I see that it's getting too long, then I will most likely split it up so it doesn't take me forever to get the next chapter out. Also, I've made an outline to one of my stories before and the length on which I hypothesized it to take to complete was completely off the mark, so the number of chapters really depends on how long the chapters get.
(Redacted. I want to type spoilers but I don't want to spoil you guys. I removed potential spoilers. Getting my feelings out without spoiling the story is very, very difficult, as I am learning.)
It will be quite the ride, for certain.
G00d
This is a very very g00d thing
Idk sleep deprivation
Pff. Spoilers? I don't know what spoilers are.
Idk about others, but I would honestly prefer longer chapters even if they took a bit longer to come out. Short chapters just don't seem satisfying enough for me.
Wow, I really wish I had the time to put into reading this!!! I have to tell so many people with so many wonderful ideas that I want to read their stuff I really do, but I don't have the time! It's kinda heartbreaking.
Anyway, best to you and pony.exe! Change the world!
I would rather see longer chapter even if they take longer to come out. Short chapters then waiting a couple of weeks or months for a new one really brakes the flow.
