UK PonyCon was fantastic · 6:42pm Oct 19th, 2015
I'll keep this fairly short, as I have a much longer report (with photos) on Louder Yay. If you're interested, you can read it here: part 1 | part 2. Suffice to say that I loved it. Although it wasn't as slick or star-studded as the big American cons (or BUCK, come to that), it had a wonderful, inclusive atmosphere that befitted (befat? :P) its all-gens, all-ages philosophy. The record, sell-out attendance of 600 was just right for the venue, keeping things busy while avoiding the crushes of last year. The con will be looking for a new venue next year, so I can't yet tell how likely it is that I'll be able to attend -- but if it's possible, then it'll be my number one target in 2016.
I really need to try smaller cons. It's been forever since I've been to a con with triple-digit attendance. At least gone to one just for fun instead of as a dealer. Happy to hear you enjoyed it. Still haven't gotten around to reading part 2 of your con report.
3482364 It's not going anywhere, so read it when you like. Or not at all, if you don't like. :P
And heh, there speaks an American used to huge conventions. Because of the absence of BUCK this year, UK PonyCon was by far the largest MLP event anywhere in the UK in 2015. I don't think anything else will reach even half that number.

True. Though I personally got influenced by the fact that the local anime con I went to for a decade and a half started as a small local con and slowly became a contender for one of the top ten biggest anime cons in the country (a list which it made one year at number 10, then hasn't appeared again as far as I know).
