The question is WHY not Skyla? I mean, come on! It's already four Alicorns in Equestria, do you really think a fifth one will make a difference? Besides, they can easily introduce Skyla in the show as a Unicorn to the show (Just like they turned Cadance into an ALicorn after she was planned to be a Unicorn), especially that Skyla's toys have been discontinued.

Still, my wicked imagination being what it is, I find myself chuckling at the thought of the the infant turning out to actually be a (drum roll please... Wait for it... changeling! Yeah, what if Chrysalis, in revenge for her ruined take-over attempt, actually snuck back into the palace after the wedding, assumed the form of Shining Armor and got Cadence pregnant with her baby instead of the real Shining? Hey! It's a cartoon! Anything's possible in cartoons!
