Why you shouldn't trust Acer with your children · 1:28pm Oct 6th, 2015
So, as many of you have read the last blog, I've been experiencing laptop problems. To the point that I have sent it to Acer, the creators of laptop, after three calls to them pretty much telling them to take them from me. Even added in a factory reset too, just to make them at ease that this isn't the software thing. Eventually, they decided it's best for them to look but only to send the laptop and not the charger. Because when you claim you have charging problems, it's best to focus one only one of the things that are probably fucking up. I tried to ask them why that is, they sort of dodged the question and so I thought "Fuck it, just send them what they want."
The fortnight after I sent it, as they require, I got a call from them saying that the laptop is working. Meaning percisely what I thought was up, the charger's shit the bed. All they need to do then is to send me a new charger, get rid of the old one and actually call your tech support service actual service, right?
WRONG
They sent it back, saying that it's a third party software is and they did a factory reset (You know, like I did just so they can take it off me), called it fixed and then sent it back. No new charger, no fixed charger. Still fucking charger problems.
To make it even better, they tell me they have no record of a proof of purchase nor a warranty even though I know I have one because I yelled it through the phone at them three to four times already.
... Looks like I need a service of a solicitor.
Also, new chapter maybe slow coming out still. Halloween one-shot almost definitely cancelled. Fuck Acer.
Uppy
Maybe you should get a new computer from a different company, especially with what you've had to deal with.
I'm a fan of HP business products. They've never steered me wrong, while Acer has never steered me *right*.
HP: I need a replacement operating system CD - Call the number, have your credit card ready, and $15 later, it's in the mail.
Acer: My brother needed a replacement operating system CD - Called Acer, bounced all around for hours, turns out they didn't have them, can't sell them, if you didn't make one when you got the laptop, you're hosed.
Now if only HP made printers that didn't take a full dvd stuffed with crapware to make it work.
Moral of the story: don't buy Acer products ever.
