    [no title]

Man, there's been a lot of famous people I love dying lately, but I'm just gonna pop onto Wikipedia real quick to reassure myself that one of my favorite authors, Umberto Eco, is still kicking it strong, at the ripe old age of--

:raritycry: I'm gonna need a minute here. :pinkiesad:

Agency and Structure, or: Diamond Tiara's Redemption

As an addendum to my post about "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", I think it's fair to say there's been some mixed responses to Diamond Tiara's moment of redemption. One of Bad Horse's blogpost directed me to a writeup by bookplayer, Agency and Character Development, and I think it's fair

Read an Unpublished Ponichaeism Story! Presenting "The Estate of the World"

In the life of a writer there are moments, as any of my fellow authors will well know, where inspiration seizes hold of you. Grips you tightly and reins you under control. Takes you by the hand and makes you do a high handstand. Consumes your very soul, and leaves you feeling like you hold the artery of creation beating and pulsating in your very hands, lets you feel the primordial flow of

"Dream A Little Dream" · 7:28pm Sep 25th, 2015

Go on and dream a little dream of me....

No, wait, sorry, wrong fiction thing.

Ahem!

I'm here to announce to all my loyal followers and/or spite-readers that I've submitted an entry for Horizon's ''Dream a Little Dream of Me" contest! Horizon posted a handful of dreams that add up to a juicy and scandalous mystery, which you can read right here, and invited any and all comers to write the most satisfying conclusion. The contest is officially anonymous, so I can't tell you which one is my entry, but it's clearly the one that deserves to win. I mean, right? You guys get that.

So go! Peruse! Enjoy! Delight!

Oh, and, go, you know, read Horizon's story too, because it's really good, I guess, or whatever.

I can't wait:

To read the other entries. Even after submitting my own, I'm still trying to figure out whodunnit! :twilightoops:

As I remarked in one of Horizon's blogs, and am now reposting here for posterity, I long ago gave up worrying about the "right" answer.

I just cockily pointed to center field and got ready to swing for the fences.

ponichaeism might not say it, but I will: Voting is open to the public for the Reader's Choice award! If this piques your interest, go read the story (just 3000 words), read the submitted epilogues (23 enjoyable pieces, ~19000 words), and speak up about your favorites!

You may or may not have wanted to add a link to the "Dream a Dream" collection in your post, as well. (On second thought, probably better for readers to start at the source story.)

And don't forget to vote for your own favorites; voting earns you 3 points toward Reader's Choice as well.

Posting a link to the submissions by themselves would be like shoving a video recording of only the Kurtz's compound section of Apocaypse Now into somebody's hands and telling them, "It's a great movie. You'll love it!"
