The Dastardly Duo (also a quick check-in)

Recently, I realized that I needed to get some art for the less noble side of Set Sail. Our main villain has existed for years now as nothing more than words on a page and ideas in my head, but now we've got photographic evidence that he exists!

I made my account here exactly 10 years ago today. A whole decade of occasionally posting words about silly little talking horses and birds. I wish I had something planned but this kinda just snuck up on me. All I have is my thoughts, and I've only got one of those right now.

    I'm getting old.

Crystal Fair! Also state of the author · 7:54am Sep 24th, 2015

I'm sure a few of you have heard of the pony convention going down in St. Louis this weekend. Crystal Fair promises to be a good convention with over 600 people projected to attend, and I bet you'll never guess who will be one of them...

That's right, I'm going to Crystal Fair! This convention promises to be a great time, what with getting to meet fellow bronies, the illustrious Lee Tockar gracing the convention with his fabulous presence, and a great panel lineup that includes one with me in it!

That's right again! I will be hosting a panel with the likes of FamousLastWords, Arad, and Kestrel, all about writing and writing accessories. The panel goes at 9 in the morning on Sunday, and it looks to be a writing panel the likes of which have never been seen before in this fandom! Not spoiling much, but we have a few ideas for how to spice things up and really make it something to get excited for. I hope to possibly see some of you there!

And now for the state of the author.

In a word: shit. My excitement about the freedom of college has been utterly crushed this week. A mountain of work the likes of which I haven't seen ever in my life has stacked up, and I'm taking a moment to let my brain rest while I type this. At nearly three in the morning. I'm pulling an all-nighter for this one, considering that I have an exam at 7:20 and then I have to make my bus to get me to the con at 10 in the morning. All in all, I project at least one more coffee will be consumed by tonight and then I will completely crash while riding up to meet my boy Famous.

And now the part that actually means something to you readers: Story status. Echoing the above statement: Shit.

Progress has completely ground to a halt as my schoolwork has been coming in like a storm surge. I have not written a single word of fanfiction in nearly two weeks, and I don't expect much to happen until possibly sometime next week. My workload will go down a bit, along with my stress level (which is usually at 0. I hate this stress), and perhaps then I will get some decent progress made once again. In addition to updates for both Into the Fire and Learning Curve, I will be working on a secret project and then perhaps a one-shot idea that has been gifted to me.

I swear one day I will come up with an idea of my own.

Until next time, this is Jack saying good morning, I hope you all sleep well (sarcasm. I hate anyone who is sleeping right now), and I hope to see you either at the Crystal Fair, the next update, or hopefully both!

See you there! Make sure you get a good night's sleep. I slept like a baby last night even though I got a few hours less than I should.

I'll be waiting...in the shadows.:pinkiecrazy:
