So guess what today is? · 10:16am Sep 20th, 2015
It's my birthday! I turn 35 today and part of me wants to celebrate, but another part of me is just cringing over what that really means. I am no longer in my early 30's. I'm in a whole new target group for marketing. My email is going to get clogged with new, different spam, and I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I'm well out of my youth now, though I still have quite a bit of middle age to work through.
But when you think about it, there are some other things that are less obvious, that are also celebrating an important date. I mean, my Driver's License is 20 years old. Think about that for a minute. There are interns I work with that are only 22. The plastic card in my wallet is almost as old as they are! Heck, how old is my wallet? I got it back in high school, for crying out loud. My car is 22 years old...sheesh.
My oldest OC is now 21. She can legally drink, drive, vote and do military service.
Sometimes, sadly, I really feel every minute of that time. And I don't just mean nostalgia, I mean a life lived hard --and often poorly--translates into feeling twice my age on any given day. Standing up is difficult at times. I get way too winded on the stairs these days and the random body pains are a thing.
Enough of that, I don't want to be a bunch of sour grapes today of all days. I do have some news of general importance to pony stuff: I am going on a week long vacation to St. Augustine, Florida. I will be spending time with my family at a beach house, relaxing as best I can. That should mean plenty of time for me to write, and hopefully plenty of inspiration to do so. I'll have my new laptop on hand, but internet access, while likely, has not been determined as of yet.
I PLAN on working on Alicorn Switcheroo, Twilight's Monsterverse, and the sequel to We Two Queens primarily. Maybe something else if I feel so inclined.
