So... I've been working on and off on a new crack-fic lately, as my last blog indicated. It was going to make Spike Wakes Up One Morning to Discover That He's Grown a Pair of Nipples On His Chest look normal by comparison. It's completely ridiculous.
But as I was writing it... I began to think of a couple of things.
The first... well, it's a stupid story. Stupid as all hell. And while I do tend to get a kick out of doing stupid crap on here sometimes... the last time I went and wrote something that stupid (the infamous Spike dildo story, still on my fanfiction.net account), I ended up feeling regret for it and deleting it off of this account.
The second thing... I feel like lately, I've been fucking things up and disappointing everybody. Despite my best efforts, I just didn't feel like I wrote the ending that people expected of me for Hoof Covers Bruise. I feel like my last story, while it was well-written and all, just... people didn't seem to be very interested in it all that much. And now, I was going to publish a ridiculously stupid crack-fic instead of something else that people might actually want to read, and while I'm sure some people wouldn't really care either way... I almost feel like spending time writing this would come across as some kind of middle finger to my followers, even if that wasn't my intention.
So... I'm not going to be publishing this abomination right now. Maybe sometime in the future I'll put something up when the mood strikes me and I actually feel like I've earned the right to screw around on here for a bit, but as of right now, I feel like I still have some proving I need to do.
I know some people are probably going to be annoyed with me for making that decision, so to any of you out there who were really looking forward to reading a crack-fic, I'm sorry. And maybe I'm just wayyyy overthinking things... but I just don't feel right posting this thing at the moment.
Instead, I'm going to start working on an idea for a story that's going to be... if I can execute it right, that is... possibly my best story that I've ever put on this site. It's going to be a oneshot starring Apple Bloom as the main character, and it's going to be a little different from anything else I've posted so far. All I'm going to say about it.
Anyways... hope you guys are doing alright. I'll try not to be disappointing with my next thingy.

I think I've said this sort of thing before but it bears repeating. You don't need to apologize for this. 1.) I loved the ending of HCB. 2.) even if people didn't so what. You're a great author, you don't have to earn the right to do anything but even if you did then you've definitely already earned it. So just do what makes you happy.
Of course, is your call what to publish or not. If you think is something you won't enjoy writing, you haven't to apologize for that. Instead, another fic of applebloom, man, that sounds amazing, Rotten Apple became one of my top fics in this place and the main reason of that is how well writed in all senses it was. I am clearly wating to read that.
Which, in facts, leads me again to the "apologize" part, man, we readers will always have expectation and prejudices and tastes and all that stuff. Sometimes we are going to like things and somethings not, of course is cool if you want what you write to like to the most people possible, but, still, the most important opinion, in this site, is how you feel writing something, after all, is not like you are earning money by this. I mean, I liked the end of HCB, but really, I liked THAT end, not just the fact that it was the ending, I'm cool with the decision you made about what would be the focus of that end and what not. So, as I see it, there is two options.
1) You made what you thought it was the best decision to the best end, cool. Now, to some of us it was a really good ending, to others it was not. It always going to happen when you take important decissions about something, you don't have to apoligize to anyone for being "disappointing" as long as you are satisfied with what you wrote and the decissions you made. b) If you did your best effort and still you don't like so much your options, that happens to the best of us, you learn, practice, gain experience and then you get better.
2) You aren't satisfied with what you wrote, because you don't think it was the best decission, it wasn't your best effort. If this is the case, the most probably is that you weren't satisfied with your options but you rush it anyway because you fell that you had to publish something and quick or the readers will feel more and more dissapointed. If that would be the case, it would be obvious that an ending rushed and unsatisfactory for the author it will always feel bad to him, even if at the end all the readers would love it unanimously, in the end your opinion is still the most importante.
I don't know if this is something that may happened, it's just a theory (because I have been there, not in this site but in others), remember still that I did like the ending and I don't feel it rushed.
In any of this case or any other option or combination I feel my message will be the same. It's easy for anyone to read something and say "this was bad, i don't like it". Sometimes they are just impolite, sometimes they are just honest and they even write it in a constructive opinion with the intention of improve your work, anycase, writing is not easy. Enjoy what you write, and write what you enjoy, nobody is paying us for this.
Doing that, you still cand choose to try to improve and write better so more people would like your work. Or not, and just write exactly what and how you want and don't care for the other opinions, or do some balance between the two. Any options you go for, if you try your best effort while at the same you enjoy it, you will not have to ask apologies to anyone for your work. It's kind of a cheesy message, but is also one of the message of the show, and I'm sticking to it.

PD: Also, I seriously hope you are a man because I use that word so many times that It would be really uncorfortable if not, sorry but I started to follow you recently (he, and Just favourited half your work already).
Dude, you don't need to earn the right t screw around and shit purely for your own amusement. Nor do you need to apologize for the ending of HCB. It was a great story. Actually, no, extend that to shouldn't apologize to anyone just because they dislike your story. I've never seen one single comment that that said, "sorry for the down-vote", or, "sorry I'm being so harsh on this story you wrote for free, for my entertainment". So why should you apologize to them? You don't actually owe these people anything. Especially that Kikimora guy, he's a real jerk.
