Got Questions? · 6:13pm Aug 12th, 2015
So I'm up to chapter 23 of The Awakening of a Tactician and the story already has 620 up-votes. To say I'm happy is an understatement; I'm positively honored. When I started writing this story I would have been happy with 300 votes. Instead I get twice that amount with the number still rising on a daily basis. I can't even begin to thank you guys and I want you to know the only reason this story is continuing is because of the huge support I'm receiving.
With that said, I want to do something that I've seen other writers do: Q+A. People have been asking me questions both regarding the story, my plans for it, and even myself. While a good number of these were Private Messages, I see no harm in answering such questions publicly. If you're curious about something regarding the story or myself, feel free to ask and I'll be more than happy to answer it.
Know that the only questions I wont answer are specific ones that could end up spoiling the story. Other than that, everything is free game.
Thanks for all the support

So, how far until... you know...
Something that I think... You mostly mentioned the power of books of fire, thunder, dark, wind and Ice, but... Now that I think did you mention Light Magic? Or your character is not good in that? Or they don't exist in the fire emblem you based Robin?
Is going to appear magic from a Fire Emblem game that are not the Fire Emblem you character appeared? I ask mainly because if your character use books, special books like Naglfar could be of use
Hmmmm, will there be any events that causes the Tactician to need a wider view of the world? What of the ponies and royalty that are 'technically' closest to him regardless of being enemies or friends to other? How could the game affect the cannon of heir adventures? The biggest hurdles would likely be the Royal Wedding, Crystal Empire and Tirek? Since we know Twilight MIGHT turn into a Alicorn, could Trixy under Robin's Tutelage? That would be rather SHOCKING.
Also those two books that went missing, murphy's law will rear it's ugly head we must state that.
3314818 The crossover? It'll be a bit from now. I have the story planned out for the most part and that chapter will make an appearance after a couple of chapters.
3314823 Robin is limited by the magic he currently posses. While Light magic does exist in Fire Emblem, Robin is unable to wield it. I do plan on doing something with this type of magic in the future, however.
3314856 While it may not seem like it, I have a lot planned for this story. As I stand I'm not even a quarter of the way to completion and I'm constantly inspired by new ideas. Robin will face many trials in his time and will be forced to look at things in a new light. You're right, however, in assuming that the Canterlot Wedding and Sombra's Return will be big turning points in the story. Saying anything more than that, however, would be spoiling the story!
Will Robin ever learn "unicorn" magic? And what about his transformation? Why go into town as a human than choose the form of a unicorn to draw less attention?
3314911 He may or may not learn unicorn magic. A lot still has to happen in the story and anything is possible.
The reason he didn't use the transformations is because he's trying to integrate into society. By proving that he's not a threat to the populace he's hoping that Celestia and Luna will leave him be.
3314936 If/when he could be able to use Unicorn magic, would it be around the time of Sombra's Defeat? For we distinctly remember a certain red curved horn being intact.
3314959 Afraid I can't say, else I may give away some of the story.
Will Robin at some point be able to get some of grima's power or not?
3315104 That, my friend, is a fully loaded question. All I'll say is I have not dismissed, nor have I acknowledged, the presence of Grima.
So many questions I could ask... but so many would be spoilers.
So how about this one. If Robin had growth rates, what would they be?
I saw what you said about Trixie in the comments of your 23rd chapter and I will ask...
Will Robin and Trixie ever grow a close friendship bond like Fire Emblem's Robin and Chrom?
3315210 Oh lord, that's a big one. At this point it's difficult to say exactly. I made it a point to do away with the growth system in order to bring the cannon character into 'real life'. If Robin had stats, they would all be incredibly high at this point, but the most would be magic with resistance coming in second.
3315225 As far as the 'big picture' is concerned, Robin and Trixie haven't been around each other for very long. Already, however, it should be clear to see that Robin is having some effect on Trixie. Any relationship they already have will only continue to grow with time.
3315243 Yay. I like it! :D
Wanna start another 50k+ crossover with Applegate?~
3315287
*shows you the door*
3315310
That is a nice door. Mahogany? When are you going to install it?
Ooh, next time, we should do a 200k crossover! Just endlessly pad it with LunaXRobin Shipping, and pandering!
You know how I like my pandering.~
So how would Robin deal with the more malevolent Displaced should he get thrown into their realms, e.g. Silent Hill?
3316726 That's a good question, I haven't considered it. His immediate actions depend on whether or not he knows the character the Displaced is posing as. Even then, he's smart enough to know that not all things are as they appear to be.
Let's take you're example: Silent Hill. Hmm... Considering most gamers know about Silent Hill, even if they don't play the game, Robin would most likely know of Pyramid Head. He would also know that he is in a horror genre based game. Anything beyond that would be a mystery to Robin.
Taking that information into account, Robin's first actions would be to attempt to converse with the Displaced. If that doesn't work he may be forced to defend himself.
Alright I have a serious question and a joke question.
We know that Risen and Phantoms are in the story based on theory and guesswork, but what about all of the other monsters? Like all of the ones from Gaiden, the few in Sacred Stones that weren't rehashes of Gaiden monsters, the :Ugh: Spirits from Radiant Dawn?
Will Doma (The Final Boss from Gaiden) be making an appearance? I mean come on, how can you resits this pretty face?
3318125 First off, oh my god, I'm so sorry It took so long to get back to you. I glanced at the question, stored it in the back of my mind for later, and than forgot about it as life swept me up off my feet and threw me off a bridge.
To answer your question, I'm not sure. I haven't given it much thought beyond the Risen and the Phantoms. More may appear later as I get better ideas, but it's just as likely they wont.
As for the obvious joke question; BURN IT WITH FIRE!!!
Just re-read the cross with Wade and had to wonder, what kind of staff did Robin make there?
