Okay, so when I first started writing Fluttershy Meets A Mantis Shrimp it was a birthday present for the always lovely Fluttercordforever but before publishing it, I also noticed that it would fit nicely with the theme of Weekly Contest #26, the prompt being "What is Beauty?" so I decided to also enter the contest.
So, how did my little story do?
Oh well. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
Anyway, even if I've still not managed to win a single contest on this site, I am not disheartened. Over 900 of you lovely people have read the story so far, and over 120 of you have seen fit to thumbs-up it. Enough to have even gotten the story featured on the Fimfiction front page (briefly). So thank you, my dear readers. 
And there's another piece of exciting news. The story now has a YouTube reading thanks to ZeusMacD…
