So I'm drafting up the next few chapters and I got to thinking. I want to be as close to canon as possible, but I still want to take liberties when I can. I've come up with a lot of compromises and work arounds for most of my more... context abusing plans. However, I do want to ask the readers one thing in regards to what I do.
Should I let Vinyl talk?
She didn't talk in EQG2, but there's any number of reasons why (that I could use anyway) And for that matter should I let Derpy talk? She has a voice now but she didn't in the movie. Really my plans don't change either way, maybe a little less comedy but still hilarious in its own right.
Anyway, I need input from you guys. The next chapter should be up before Sunday I need some comments. Should I let Derpy and Vinyl talk? Just one? Both? Neither?
This is for the rest of the story btw.
Let their voices be heard!
I personally don't mind if you have them both talk.
Or you could just be evil and go like this...
And there you go, Vinyl just did something good, profound, funny, and important to the plot, all without saying a word.
3283003 lol i like that option
I vote for allowing them to speak, but I'm biased. Vinyl will speak when she appears in my stuff, and Derpy's already been talking in my works.
I'd say no to vinyl and Yes to Derpy. I think that's probably closest to canon.
Not much reason not to have Derpy talk. Vinyl could go either way, but if you want to stick closest to "canon" then have her "speak" through gestures when she's able to.
Well, Derpy "Muffins" Hooves can speak in the show now (or at least in that one episode) so you're good there. For Vinyl I'd say give her a special reason to that explains why she's usually silent. Like she only talks if someone takes away her headphones. Or she just doesn't like her voice (too high pitched: not enough wubs?)
