My first novel is now released

Some of you might remember that I've been working on a novel for a while. After years of hard work, this novel, Opt Out, is now released. You can get it over at https://roryprice.net/store/ and pay what you want for it. You can even download it for free and later decide how much you think it's worth.

I'm back, and I have a new fic coming

    Hey guys.

I haven't been on Fimfiction in a while, and I'm sure a lot of you don't remember subscribing to me and will wonder who the hell I am as this blog post shows up. I've been away from the fandom for about two years, but I had another fanfic idea, and I figured I'd give it a shot.

A little update about my book

This is just a little update about what's going on with me. I already told you guys that I was working on a novel, and it's going very well. In fact, a publisher just showed interest in the project. Obviously, it's too early for me to give any details, but things are looking bright.

Thinking Back on A Dream of Sunny Days

I promised a retrospective for A Dream of Sunny Days, so here goes. It goes without saying that this will contain a ton of spoilers, so I suggest not reading this unless you read the whole story.

    All that's left is editing.

It took forever, but I got all the feedback I wanted for Sunny Days, and I rewrote everything the way I like it. Now, all that's left is to edit the remaining chapters, of which there are four left. (Plus a short epilogue) It might not look like much, but it's a pretty big milestone for me. I will try to release the chapters as fast as I can, but both the friend who helps me edit and I work full

Would anyone be interested in proofreading? · 10:58pm Jul 27th, 2015

So, as the title implies, I might be looking at getting a second proofreader. This blog post is mostly me testing the water, seeing if anyone's interested.

I would essentially be looking for someone who's up to date with A Dream of Sunny Days, and who's interested in the story. Now, here's the tricky part. I'm not just looking for someone who'll leave comments on a doc. Proofreading, to me, also involves talking to the author (aka me). I would therefore be looking for someone who's willing to add me to Skype and have the occasional discussions about it. In fact, I'd insist on a Skype call first. (It might sound silly, but this fic represents a lot to me, and I'd rather get to know someone before they help me out with it.)

Other things to know. I do not work with Google docs, I prefer sending the file through Skype or email. I can also be a bit picky about scheduling. (Essentially, if you tell me you'll be done by Tuesday, don't send me the file on Wednesday). I'm also very open to criticism, and am not expecting blind praise. I'm mostly looking for someone who's open to talking about the story, maybe help me brainstorm ideas for it too.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be interested. I do understand that I'm asking for a certain level of commitment not everyone would be comfortable with, which is why I've been hesitant to post this in the first place. I figured I have nothing to lose by asking.

Also, this is specifically for a proofreader, aka the first person who'll see a chapter after I'm done with it. I already have an editor, and he works fast enough that I don't need a second one. This is also specifically for A Dream of Sunny Days. I have no other stories I'm currently working on.

I might be interested. I have a heavy emotional investment in the story, and its one of my favorites. I don't run into many good mystery stories, and this one always has my attention. I'm a little rusty in proofreading, but I do have some experience, so I think I know what you're looking for.

Send me a PM, and we can talk.
