This week sucks · 5:12pm Jul 25th, 2015

This is a rant post. Sorry about that, but my god I hate how this week has gone.

So, last week one of the other manager/shift leaders went on vacation... For two weeks. So I have to close on Saturday, fine whatever. I have three days off! I can get writing done!

Yeah that didn't end up happening. Either I couldn't muster up the energy, or I got distracted with other things. Tomorrow is another day right?

Well here's how the rest of the week went. My store closes at 10pm. I usually get out at 11, and home around 11:40/midnight. I then have to take two hours to wind down enough to be able to fall asleep, then get up around 10 or so the next day.

So Thursday I worked 2-close. Now sadly when I have work looming over my head, I don't tend to write well, because all I can think about is: "Bleh, I have work in an hour or two" So things don't really tend to get done then.

Friday I worked 12-close. I have basically enough time and energy to get up, eat, and go to work. Saturday I worked 3-close, but I had to do my grocery shopping with my roommate as it's the only day we both have off and time to do it.

Sunday I worked 12-close, and Monday I worked 12- close.

Tuesday I worked 6-close, but at that point I just wanted to relax for a day. Get to work and find out two people who are closers pretty much just vanished, one saying they quit. The other just dropping off the face of the earth.

This left me closing with one other person. We have to keep open till 10, so it was two people trying to run a store with drive thru and walk in, along with making the food and doing the night cleaning.

Wednesday comes. A day off! Yay! I can relax- no I keep getting texts and calls asking me if I can come in that night. I decline, only for them to PERSIST. Still I'm beat I decline again, and I have a Wednesday night thing anyway. Finally managed to keep my day off, but now I'm no longer in a mood to do much of anything, as to get the day to remain off, I had to promise to come in early the next day if needed since I only worked 6-close again.

Well I'm thinking I'll be called in like 2 or noon. Nope wake up at 10:30 to see he wants me in there at 11. I have to shower quickly and run out the door without food. Get there at 11, and am suppose to be let go at 2pm, giving me a few hours to eat and the like- yeah you probably guessed that didn't happen. I managed to eat a quick sandwich and bowl of soup and that was it for the day. Cue working till close.

He wanted me in on Friday from noon to close as well, but when I got home that night I shut my phone off. I woke up Friday feeling like crap, it wasn't happening. (I wasn't needed anyway)

So all of that lead to today. Another day off, no worries of being called in. I was going to watch Pixels and enjoy the day.

The sewer line to my apartment got clogged, my bathroom is flooded with sewer water, and I've spent the last hour or so scooping it up in buckets and carrying it outside, while trying to do damage control because the maintenance people either can't shut the water off, or are too damn stupid to do so.

FUCK this week.
