A General Update On Things · 6:46pm Jul 2nd, 2015
Hi Everybody.
So I just feel like I might have been a bit quite around FIMFiction lately, and I thought it would be a good idea to let you all know how I'm doing with things. In really no particular order of priority (Okay, a little order of priority) I just want to give a small update on some things related to MLP and life.
1. The Next Chapter of When Kindness Met Hatred
For those of you curious about when the next chapter of the story will finally be posted (The reason why I tagged it with this blog), I do have an explanation: IT STINKS! I wish I was exaggerating, but in my two years of writing this story—or my three years of writing fanfiction—I have never been so disappointed with the way a chapter looks. I will add, however, that the past couple months of my life have been exhausting and distracting me from my work, so I haven't been able to work on it as consistently as usual. But the good news is, I finally just finished writing the rough draft. So now that I've laid out the bare bones of the chapter, I can make the adjustments I want, to actually make it all look good. I'm not sure when it will be released, but please understand that I have not canceled the story, nor do I plan to stop working on it anytime soon.
2. What I think of Season 5 so far
I don't think I've shared my opinion about the show enough times on the site, but I want to actually start being active with the Brony community again; I feel like I've been feeling very distant from the fandom lately, so I thought this might be a good way to reconnect.
So anyway, I think overall, the season is pretty awesome. We've already seen the show tackle heavy themes and morals in just the first two episodes, and even experienced a bit of an experimental episode with "Bloom and Gloom", which I think is the best CMC episode to date. And of course, I have to say that episode 100 was pretty frickin' sweet! I know I'm late on that one, but it shows how the show writers are still going very strong, and can be very creative with the stories to tell and the characters they write. And overall, the whole thing just blew me away, and I really enjoyed the whole experience. And although some episodes didn't exactly hit the mark ("Princess Spike" in particular), I think it would be safe to say that we can expect many great things to happen this season.
3. Any more news? (On-site or irl)
My life has been a bit active since graduation. I'm currently working as a sales associate at Macy's while still applying to several jobs at TV stations and attending acting auditions whenever I can track them down. And just today, my sister got engaged while vacationing in Germany with her boyfriend, so we're all very happy about that! But for me, my biggest goal in my perosnal life is coming out to my family as Genderqueer/Transfeminine. I've been stalling for so long, but I feel like this weekend is gonna be the time. I can feel it. Wish me luck!
That's really it for now. Hope to have some new written material published soon!
