Rewriting Chapter 11 · 5:44am Aug 22nd, 2015
So... title explains it all.
I've noticed that some people who have read chapter 11 have been rather annoyed with the way Mockingbird was portrayed. And to tell the truth, I've come to the conclusion that those are some pretty accurate criticisms. In a scene where I was trying to go for tension, anger, and strong misunderstandings between two siblings, I instead delivered angst, whining, and melodramatic dialogue.
I also understand that this is more than likely part of the reason why I'm struggling with chapter 12; the flow of the story has been broken. I want to restore that flow and actually give Mockingbird the characterization he deserved. I don't want a character I've loved since day one to become one that I want to forget about. And I am certain that all of my readers tracking the story have fallen in love with him just as much as I have throughout this whole process. That's why I'm going to give chapter 11 a makeover.
Nothing is going to change plotwise, but what I will really focus on mending will be dialogue, tone and how Mockingbird expresses his emotions. But please understand that this will mean chapter 12 will be delayed for just a little bit longer. I know you're all annoyed with me at this point for delaying an update for almsot a year already, but I feel I can't move on with the story by sweeping a major flaw under the rug and pretending it's not something I'm responsible for. So instead of trying to ignore the criticism that will only slow down my motivation, I'm finally taking the criticisms in stride and making somehting really shine.
The chapter will not be taken down, but expect changes to come. I'll even announce when the new version is ready for all to read!

Yeah no offense but in the first half of the chapter he seems like a dick no pun intended
3396921 I know. Perhaps I shouldn't have rushed the release of this chapter, especially when I was just trying to actually get back into the habit of writing the story.
