SuperPinkBrony12

I'm a brony and a Pinkie Pie fan but I like all of the mane six, as well as Spike. I hope to provide some entertaining and interesting fanfics for the Brony community.

    Happy Birthday, Kelly Sheridan

Today is Kelly Sheridan's birthday. She is the talented woman who voiced Starlight Glimmer from Seasons 5 through 9, and was also the voice of characters such as Sassy Saddles, Misty Fly, and Vapor Trail's mother. She has also been the voice of Barbie in several direct to home media movies, Scarlet Witch in X-Men: Evolution, and many other roles.

    Episode Re-Review: Non-Compete Clause

Well, the next several episodes to be re-reviewed are going to be tough to get through, many of them contain some of Season 8's worst missteps or otherwise blunders. But I gotta get through them. This episode marked the debut of yet another new writer in the form of Kim Beyer-Johnson, who among her previous writing credits wrote for Transformers: Rescue Bots, which aired on The Hub and

    Episode Re-Review: Horse Play

Season 8 finally had an episode that made use of its changes to the status quo with "Surf and/or Turf", which many said was FiM tackling the trickly subject of divorce (though I personally don't see it). However, the episode also felt at times like it was more of a belated commercial for the 2017 movie rather than an actual episode, and the School of Friendship itself was only sort of relevant to

    Episode Re-Review: Grannies Gone Wild

Well, Tell Your Tale finally decided to try to do something interesting, because the last episode showed Sunny's mom in a flashback. But they didn't even give her a name, let alone elaborate on what happened to her. And given the way Tell Your Tale progresses, I'm not expecting any follow-up anytime soon. Getting back to G4, Season 8 hit its first stumbling block only four episodes in, and the

Episode Re-Review: Fake It 'Til You Make It

Oh joy, it's back to Season 8. Season 9 has its fair share of detractors, but hardly anyone I know ever sings Season 8's praises, and for good reason. We now know that the School of Friendship was added at Hasbro's request because they wanted the show to wrap up with nine seasons, forcing the writers to change their plans for the pillars. About the only good thing to come out of Season 8 seems to

Party Pooped Review · 4:39pm Jun 27th, 2015

So, we've got a Pinkie Pie episode? Well, her character's been pretty spot on so far this season, can it keep going or is it about to go up in flames?

Well, like with last week, we've got Jayson Thiessen and Jim Miller penning the story. As for who's writing it? It's Nick Confalone, who not only wrote for Johnny Test, but also Fish Hooks, and Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, and from what I hear not one of those shows were well recieved. Considering the bad luck other Johnny Test writers and new writers have been having this season, did Nick Confalone also get off to a bad start?

Not at all, but we'll get to that when we get to it. For now, we've got an episode to review. Are you ready?:

We begin with all of the mane six preparing for an upcoming summit with a bunch of Yaks from Yakahistan (no doubt a play on words for either Pakistan or Afghanistan), and the Yaks quickly prove themselves to be quite rude. Case in point, they destroy anything if they don't like what they're given. Yeah, I really don't think these guys deserve to be dipolmats with this sort of behavior. Regardless of where you come from, you do not get to order delagates or leaders from other countries around without reprcussions.

Each of the mane six talk about how much destruction the Yaks have caused, and Twilight reveals that the stakes are high. She's hoping to impress Princess Celestia, since Equestria and Yakahistan haven't ever opened their borders to each other before. In a brief moment of unnecesary comedy, Pinkie Pie causes Applejack to drop a hammer and destroy a vase that Rarity had just repaired. Thankfully, that is the extent to which Pinkie Pie acts stupid in this episode.

The Yaks continue to remain ungrateful, as they constantly destroy things while the ponies try their hardest to impress them. Before long, it is up to Pinkie Pie to save the day with a party. And the pressure is really getting to her. After all:

Deciding that her best option is to go to Yakahistan and bring back something authentic, Pinkie Pie sets off (thankfully leaving behind a note). The rest of the mane six try to stall as best they can, including having Spike play a paino. Unfortunately, it turns out that Spike is using a paino that plays itself, and the Yaks get pretty mad. Twilight manages to catch Spike, just before the Yaks destroy the paino. And then they announce that they will leave, and return with more Yaks to wage war. This officially cements this episode as "Over A Barrel" redone, and considering how bad that episode was, I'm surprised that a new writer is so eagerly willing to redo it.

Pinkie Pie catches a train to the Frozen North, but a bunch of sheep stray onto the line and she's held up at Dodge Junction. Leaving the train station, who should Pinkie Pie bump into, but Cherry Jubilee (coming of the outhouse no less.)?

Cherry Jubilee gives Pinkie Pie a ride, but she falls asleep, and the carriage ultimately plunges into a ravine. Thankfully, The Wonderbolts save the day, and Pinkie Pie gets back on track to the Frozen North.

Meanwhile, the rest of the mane six try to throw their own party, but they're in over their head. (Of course they could always see about dropping Cheese Sandwich a line. I'm sure he'd love to help. That is, assuming he's not busy planning a party elsewhere.) They head back to Sugarcube Corner, and bump something that triggers a trap door. It leads to a hidden party planning cave.

Pinkie Pie, with Princess Cadence's help (this is her third consecutive appearance this season!) reaches the border of the Frozen North, and reaches the gates of Yakahistan, only for the snow bank she's on to end up giving way and sending her all the way back to Ponyville. It is there that she discovers her friends are in her basement party planning cave.

Pinkie Pie's friends apologize for putting so much pressure on her with the party, and after accepting the apology, Pinkie Pie realizes what she needs to do. It turns out that the key to success is to make the Yaks feel at home in Equestria, by showing why Equestria is such a nice place. The Yaks are pleased, and agree not to start a war. Princess Celestia arrives, and she praises both Twilight and Pinkie Pie for their efforts. The episode ends with Pinkie Pie getting a massive bear hug from the Yak prince.

And that's the story, so what do I think of the episode? Well, the parts with the mane six and Spike are pretty good, and Pinkie Pie is wonderfully in character. The Yaks are rather rude though, and they really should've been called out for their behavior at some point. I mean, the ponies didn't have to meet with them. Still, it's only a minor stain on an otherwise enjoyable episode. I give it an A, putting it above "Tanks For The Memories" by a hair, but below the reliatvely more enjoyable "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone". Nick Confalone will be writing for a currently unnamed Pie family episode later this season, and I am cautiously looking forward to it. I'm sure he'll do a good job with Pinkie Pie, but I don't know how well he'll handle her family.

Next week we've got "Amending Fences" which has Twilight, Spike, and Pinkie Pie going to Canterlot to try and reconnect with Twilight's old classmates. It will air on the 4th of July, but it may also reair on July 6, and it will be written by M. A. Larson. Let's hope it turns out good.

I think you miss the whole point with pinkie's comedy it's not meant make her stupid. It's comedy when has comedy been intelligent? Can't she do anything funny without the fans freaking out over it and thinking it's stupid or OOC.

I love Pinkie's party cave

3186919 It would've been funny if it didn't result in a negative consequence for someone else. A funny joke is Pinkie Pie's drawn out "No" later in this episode. An unfunny joke is her making someone drop a hammer and destroy a vase. It's just not funny.

This officially cements this episode as "Over A Barrel" redone, and considering how bad that episode was, I'm surprised that a new writer is so eagerly willing to redo it.

While I can see the similarities between this episode and "Over a Barrel", I don't think that's what the writer was going for.
But I personally think Over a Barrel was good. Not one of the first season's strongest, nor one of its worst.

Personally, this is my fourth favorite episode of the season so far, behind Tanks for the Memories, Slice of Life, and Make New Friends But Keep Discord

I thought it was funny. Then again I enjoy comedy at someone else's expense but not everyone does. I noticed these jokes are getting fewer and fewer maybe you need to relax it was one joke.

3186937 Still, I don't want it to be a pattern for Pinkie Pie. She's not Patrick Star.

3186940
True. She's smarter then him and hopefully she is pretty far away from becoming that evil starfish

You and I are gonna keep waiting for that job application for "MLP Writers" to show up.

Regardless of where you come from, you do not get to order delagates or leaders from other countries around without repercussions.

Pat Robertson happened to order Judge John Roberts around when the gay marriage thing was passed yesterday; it's on that day's taping of the 700 Club. Anyway, these yaks need a theme song. Hmm...how about this one?

(Courtesy of Atlantic Recording Corporation, by arrangement with Warner Music Group Online Licensing)

Deciding that her best option is to go to Yakahistan and bring back something authentic, Pinkie Pie sets off (thankfully leaving behind a note). The rest of the mane six try to stall as best they can, including having Spike play a piano. Unfortunately, it turns out that Spike is using a piano that plays itself, and the Yaks get pretty mad. Twilight manages to catch Spike, just before the Yaks destroy the piano. And then they announce that they will leave, and return with more Yaks to wage war. This officially cements this episode as "Over A Barrel" redone, and considering how bad that episode was, I'm surprised that a new writer is so eagerly willing to redo it.

Maybe Spike was playing some rock and roll on the piano and, to quote the above song, the Yaks were saying that because he didn't do much of his chores (see last episode) he didn't get to rock and roll no more. Anyway, what's next? Is a new writer gonna be eager to re-write One Bad Apple (introduction to a character whose image in that episode was one Hasbro was too damn eager to reinforce and that we smart folks were all too damn eager to object; how's about we get a hold of that character and re-write her in a way that makes her appeal to everyone, not just us few?)

During that ride scene, I thought up a deleted part of it where she sings "Silver Threads Among The Gold". And why not? If Bob from Sesame Street can nail it in the video below, why can't she?

Pinkie Pie's friends apologize for putting so much pressure on her with the party, and after accepting the apology, Pinkie Pie realizes what she needs to do. It turns out that the key to success is to make the Yaks feel at home in Equestria, by showing why Equestria is such a nice place. The Yaks are pleased, and agree not to start a war.

HudsonHawk has put up a blog post consisting of the entire transcript (and video) from the Speech to Humanity scene in 1940's The Great Dictator; if we were allowed a peek at that scene further, we could find that she may well have been reading it, it's that beautiful.

Indeed, Pinkie is one of the most intelligent ponies known to ponykind, a fact that Confalone appears to have respected heavily; and (3186953), Patrick Star is simply an idiot, and idiotic is not the same as evil. The mane 6 and Spike also seem to be doing well under his direction. Again, when you see those Yaks again, play that Coasters song. It's for them. And it's fun. One of my mom's favourite songs of the 1950s. Anyways, that would be all of the parts of your review to which I would be reacting.

We'd like your reactions to my reaction. Speak them by hitting the reply button.

And remember, now you can sing along with Sweetie Belle anytime you'd like. Just click on this link to see the post where you can legitimately do so.

From what my little brother has shown me, the main character from Kick Butt Boy hates ponies. Said character has a little sister who is basically Diamond Tiara, but more 'likeable' to people who hate Dia.

I enjoyed this episode too, quite a few funny moments and Cherry Jubilee made a return. This is becoming the season when one-time characters make a return, I can only guess which one will return next.

A way better episode than Princess Spike last week. This writer of Fish Hooks had won me over... for now anyway.

I give it a 8/10. It was such a funny episode. The expressions were amazing. The writing was good. And Pinkie is once again awesome!

Great review.

I personally think this was the Episode of the ENTIRE SERIES (even Stinkers like "Putting your Hoof down" and "Somepony to watch over me" were better)

The Yaks were so unlikeble that I have to wonder why anyone whould want to make Friends with them and them wanting to declare War was Suicide cause they would have fought against the 4 Alicorn Princesses and Discord.

Pinkie's Journey doesn't make one bit of Sense and don't tell me "It's Pinkie Pie" cause even she can't do all those in ONE AFTERNOON. Not to mention she first traveled to Dodge Junction, that is located southeast of Ponyville, then she travels to Manehatten, which is in the East before finally arriving at the far North... that's one Hell of a Detour and one GIANT WASTE OF TIME :twilightangry2:

The Beatles deserved a better Episode to be referenced... not to mention their Role was also a WASTE OF TIME (it would have been better if they took Pinkie to the Crystal Empire with them... and Ringo could have been with them)

Before Pinkie could enter Yakyakistan SHE TRAVELS ALL THE WAY BACK TO PONYVILLE... passing Cherry Jubilee in MANEHATTEN and the Sheeps in DODGE JUNCTION... I mean there is Epic Fail and then there is THIS :facehoof:

Twilight is afraid of some quesadillas because they're "Cheesy" and honestly this is where I stopped the Episode

But to end this on a positive Note: It was nice to see Cherry Jubilee again and it was nice to see how determined both Pinkie and Cherry are to their Jobs (Pinkie by traveling to Yakyakistan and Cherry by counting all the Cherries)

3209081 I liked her potrayal here. It showed a side to her that I don't think anyone really considered. It takes a lot to be able to plan parties for so many different individuals.
