Need to rely on clickbait cover art to gather in the views on get on that precious Feature Box? How about actually practicing your writing so you can be proud of making top quality stories (or stories that you can care about)?
This site is ultimately about the stories, not the cover arts.

Oh, and thank you Moon_Fire for noting that fact that we still have minors on the site. And don't give me bs about how minors shouldn't be reading clopfics anyway. I understand that, but that doesn't excuse anyone from posting borderline porn where the minors can see them in the first place.

While I know this blog isn't aimed at me, oddly enough it feels like I'm the only one who has the 'why is this a problem?' attitude about the whole thing...
It's the internet, I know as much as anyone that anonymity is going to let the worst parts of people's personalities come out... but... things are just starting to feel a bit too extreme. It makes me fear for FIMFiction when I start reading this stuff.
I'm not going to lie, I do take a look at some of the more mature stories from time to time, and there are good mature stories that have garnered my interest... but to say to move all of that stuff to a different site? isn't that a tad... much?
I actually think this should be a Mature site since (mostly) only those who are sixteen or older are the ones to get on here. But I can see where they're coming from with the "no NSFW pics" since there is a minority that are minors on this site.

Ok that's just really a barrel of laughs. Extreme? Maybe, but hah this blog post is simply common fucking sense to me. Seriously any decent person would agree with this statement. I remember a time when fics or clopfics didn't rely on clickbait pictures to get on the Feature Box, but now that seems to be a norm and the writing quality on the Feature Box gets shittier as time passes. It shouldn't have to be like that but apparently some think it does and that says a lot about the community on Fimfic. The Feature Box is on the face of the website and if that's filled with cover arts of borderline porn, what does that say about us?

If that's what you think, but again I will reiterate that this isn't the end of the world and yet people are acting like it's an infringement on their freedom. This isn't fucking censorship. Is Fimfic TRULY keeping people away from porn? Are they the government? Are they literally denying you access to porn? The answer is 'No' to all of them.

The point I was trying to make is that on both sides of the argument it's a very ridiculous thing to bring up. Not just with the fact that it's being brought up, but moreso on the fact that this IS something that needs to be brought up. I do honestly see your side of this and completely understand, it's just ridiculous that the site is fighting about this in general.
I don't really participate in a lot of the meta commentary myself, I don't blog as often as others do on here... I'm just expressing a point that this all seems... like it shouldn't have been something that needed to be pointed out in the first place.

Okay I see where you're going with this now. But eh FimFic drama. What can you do about it? It's like a vortex that draws you in 50 miles away.
As for Equestrian Earth, I haven't done much with it in a month. I got a new editor but I need to talk to him again to see what's he up to. So far he's gone over 3 of the first five chapters (not including chapter 1 he kinda skipped over that because I wanna redo that one). I haven't checked on chapter number 5 though.
As for new chapters, well here's a sneak peek on a one shot I'm doing soon. I'd love to have your comment on the blog post about that. Any sort would do as long as its feedback because I wanna know what readers would think of it.

Started with a goal of at least 1000 and one of the recent chapters on my latest story just broke the 7000 count without even trying, debating on whether to make it into two chapters or just cut and paste the new chapter into the old chapter and just see how far the chapter goes along before the episode is done... the more I think about it the more I want to do the latter... but I also like it as a two-parter... so I'm really torn on which to use

That's pretty great. In my experience though, doing like separate parts of a chapter can be a nightmare. The Rainbow Dash mini arc of Equestrian Earth (Chapter 11) was separated into 5 different parts and it took over the course of a year to get that done. I think everyone liked it and the pacing was done decently, but again it was a nightmare to get it all done.
