So I literally just finished Interstellar, and . . . I'm not even sure WHAT to say. The movie had me in tears as many times as I was mesmerized, intrigued, and angry. Except maybe it was a little more. I don't know. I'm still trying to take in all that I watched so far. It contained some very interesting ideas that I never thought about, and the story took physics and fantasy and placed them together in a perfect ying yang.
What can I say for sure about this movie? 10/10. I don't think I've seen a better movie in my time with the movies that I've watched. And it took me way too long to watch this damn movie.
I know that feel, bro. But with Inception.
I should really watch Interstellar.
It's a neat movie, but there was far too much silliness throughout and especially towards the end to really keep my attention.
But still best movie because robots.

That's what kept me interested, honestly. But it balanced out silliness and seriousness rather well, to me. I mean, look at all the sadness and serious moments in the movie. There're the parts where Cooper finds out his kids are all grown up, his dad died, and then there's the fact that he nearly got killed on a foreign planet, had to face his death again and again all the way until they reached the black hole, and then somehow was sane throughout all of it until the end.
I thought it was pretty solid all throughout. But that's my opinion.

Surviving the black hole was what really killed it for me. That and the research lead wasting time with busywork. All of the scientists in all of the departments I've worked with have never been anything but interested in advancing the human race, even if it means banging their heads against a brick wall for hours on end.
But, I liked it for the bots. Even if they were silly looking.
Yeah, I heard that one was pretty good. Space-based movies in general tend to be good. Something to do with the imagination aspect...minus Prometheus, of course. I actually just saw Gravity with Sandra Bullock. I usually don't like her, but she was awesome in that movie. Also, George Clooney. Two actors I hate, that I somehow loved in a very good movie. That's saying something.
I enjoyed it, but I just can't get past what I see as a major plot hole. If they had the tech for the ground to space landers they use during the mission, the whole gravity equation thing is silly. If you can just fly up to space and back as opposed to being forced to use a rocket, you really have no excuse for not being able to springboard that into whatever else you might want to do up there. But the robots were really cool, so eh.
What I am really looking forward to is The Martian upcoming in November. I just finished the audiobook for the book, and it was fantastic. Good story, and solid science from start to finish.
3161946 Have you seen Moon? If you liked the seriousness of Interstellar and don't mind a bit of a slower movie, I really recommend it.
But yeah, Interstellar wad pretty polarizing...people either love it or hate it. Personally I thought it was fantastic.
I haven't seen it myself, but one of my teammates on a school trip was watching it overnight on the bus ride to Nebraska. When I went to sleep, he had just started the movie. I would then, later, wake up and he would still be watching it. Then again. Then again.
When I asked about the length, he said it was the longest movie ever.
6/10 Legendary
You guys should of watch Interstellar in theater.
