I travel space and time, searching for perfection, for safety, and for purpose. I may never find it, and I may get lost, but the important part is the journey, not the destination. Enjoy it or remiss.

    It's Been a While

I don't think I have really touched this site in a while. I keep getting notifications for replies to my comments on mainly the Austraeoh series, but I . . . well, I still wonder about this place, about everyone still here and how everyone is doing, in their literary pursuits and their personal lives, assuming we got to know each other well enough.

    6 Years

I . . . I honestly don't have much to say for this one. There aren't very many things I can say I've done for six years. Working? Nope, I started in 2013. I played percussion for seven years. I've played on Xbox Live for seven years, almost 8. I've been on YouTube Since 2009. Meh, that's whatever, I guess.

    Power At Last!

Well, it's been an entire month without power. Somehow, someway, I have been without any connection to the outside world for that long, and it's been hard. 0/10, do not recommend. :rainbowwild:

    Foalcon Fiasco Followup

So I'm done with my commenting on the newest FiMFic Drama Showcase, and I thought I would give some after thoughts and maybe elaborate my feelings on the subject in a less emotional way. Needless to say, I have gotten a little angry with how things have progressed in terms of discussion, and I've reached my limit. I'm letting it go, but here's what I have to say on the matter to end this one for

Little Witch Academia · 1:06am Nov 1st, 2017

I find it funny that I am making this post as I am about to watch the last two episodes of Little Witch Academia, and I still haven't watched the season finale of MLP. Don't spoil anything for me! :rainbowwild: But, yeah, I am basically ass backwards right now.

I started watching this series about five days ago, I'd say, and I'm honestly happy that I started watching over MLP. I mean, I like where MLP is going. I am not overly disappointed with how season seven has gone so far, and unlike many people I've seen, I enjoy the level of quality and variety that we've had since season six. However, I have pretty much only been watching that show, besides Rick and Morty, since I was a freshman in high school. Fan fiction offers everything I need to explore MLP's lore, but I love other things too, and I haven't branched out in a while.

So I did so with Little Witch Academia. It's, surprisingly, a Netflix Original, and that was the original reason I started to watch it. I have loved everything so far that Netflix has been doing with funding awesome shows to bring them back or allowing an avenue for new directors to get their shows to a larger audience. It also means that actors as well can get a great start with them.

Here, Netflix didn't necessarily fund it, but they released the dubbed version to the world this year, and that was their project. I started watching in subs because, subs master race, but I have shitty internet, and Netflix has an extremely reliable stream for some reason, which GoGoAnime and Kissanime don't have. I loved the subed version, but to be honest . . . the dub grew on me. They did a fantastic job for all of the characters in this show, and I felt the voices for for everyone except a few. That's pretty good, overall, because they have to carry through for the whole show to not make the dub an utter disaster, and those characters ended up losing only a bit of the emotion and character that the Japanese had originally intended. In the end, they also grew on me, so if ypu haven't watched this show yet, I can actually recommend both versions.

What makes this show so interesting is because it shows a different side of magic. It functions differently, it's used and spoken differently, and it is treated far differently. I'll try to keep this spoiler free for those that haven't watched it, but just know that you can literally take so many different interpretations of magic in pop culture movies and see all of these aspects reflected within the show. More importantly, though, it all seems to make sense. It doesn't use these elements and create a mismatched collage of how people have imagined magic to operate. Instead, it ties them together while offering a completely unique function for magic in the modern age.

And the animation! I mean, I have seen cute shows drawn in the average anime style, but this show . . . it has such a unique style. The animation is fluid. Like, very, very smooth. I am amazed that they can create such an immensly beautiful anime, and this is a very good reason why I love this anime.

Oh, and by the way, . . . this.

I'll leave it at that. The animation has to be experienced. I could write an entire review of the animation if I wanted to. :rainbowlaugh: But I don't want to. I'm way too lazy. 😋

Anyway, the anime is about Atsko Kagari, known as Akko. She is accompanied by her friends and roommates Lotte Yanson and Sucy Manbavaran. Akko is many things, such as an airhead, extremely determined, overbearing, undefeatably happy, excited, and many times . . . she misses the mark because of it. However, Lotte, a romantic and a major bookworm, and Sucy, a . . . something . . . but we know she means well! Either way, they are always there to help catch her and level out her insatiable quest of both becoming a witch and getting into trouble.

There are far more characters with immense levels of depth in this show, creating a vibrant cast that makes this anime so enjoyable to watch. This is a story about following your heart and achieving your dreams. Magic embodies something pure within you, something within your heart. This can sometimes be easily challenged by adversity and general evil, but the show pushes this message of never giving up. Through Akko's Naruto level of ambition, the show never fails in reminding us of this fact.

But this mystery of the matter of magic within this world is always ever looming and . . . still never answered. As we follow Akko, we learn more and more of it's nature. That's something I, personally, fantasize about. The matter a of magic and such. However, the one thing that this show does well is tackle a question I have always wondered.

You'll have to watch it to figure it out, though. :raritywink: Be sure to check it out if you haven't yet, and if you have, let me know what you thought about it! I am really in to this series, and I honestly can't believe I stopped long enough to write this. :rainbowlaugh: So I'm going to get back to. Talk to you guys later!

Thanks for the recommendation; I’ve been looking for a new anime to sink my teeth into.

And re: my little pony season finale: you are in for a treat! :D

I can't wait to see what is in store. To be honest, I don't have any clue what's going to happen in the finale, so this will be a complete surprise for me. I just wish Netflix kept up with MLP. I could easily watch it.

Also, start today! Watch both subbed and dubbed to figure out which one you enjoy more because there are strengths and weaknesses to both.
